Dustin Chad "Dusty" Monk, 31, of Bud, WV passed away on Tuesday December 24, 2019. He was born on March
4, 1988 in Beckley, WV a son of Fred and Maxie Griffith Monk, Jr. of Herndon, WV. Dusty is a 2006 graduate of
Wyoming East High School. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Betty Griffith; grandfather Fred S. Monk;
an uncle Anthony "Pete" Monk; and two cousins Pete Monk and Amber Sweeney. In addition to his parents
survivors include a daughter Mila Monk and her mother Kara Canada of Mullens; a sister Salena Monk of Bud; a
brother Adam (Earin) Massie of Basin; his grandmother Carol Monk of Baisden; his grandfather Benny Griffith of
Princeton; two nieces Jacey and Khloey; four aunts Pauline Monk, Rachel Griffith, Barbara (Larry) Blevins and
Edna (Jerry) Sergent; three uncles John (Tina) Griffith, Benny (Kitti) Griffith and Shawn (Kayla) Griffith; and a
host cousins and other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Monday December 30th
at the Highland Avenue Baptist Church, Mullens, WV with Rev. Ernest Francis, III officiating. He will be laid to
rest in the Monk Family Cemetery, Mullens, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 12 pm until time of
services on Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Damon Hall, Kenneth McMillion, Shawn Griffith,

Jeffrey Alan Cline, 54, of Pineville, WV passed away on Friday December 27, 2019 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital,
Roanoke, WV following a short illness with liver disease. He was born on October  25, 1965 in Welch, WV a son of
Mary Dixon Cline of Pineville and the late Roger Barry Cline. He is preceded in death by his father. In addition to
his mother survivors include a son Taylor Cline and his fiancé Bethiny Ruiz of Beckley; a grandson Bentley Cline of
Pineville; a brother Timmy Cline of Lynco; a niece Tashawna (Aaron) Bailey of Oceana; a great niece Aliyah Bailey
of Oceana; his lifelong friend Terry (Lisa) Laxton of Pineville; and a host of other loving family and friends. In
keeping with his wishes he will be cremated. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home,

Michael Ross Lamb, 62, of Oceana, WV passed away on Monday December 30, 2019 at his home following a long
illness. He was born on August 30, 1957 in Welch, WV a son of the late David Harold and Mildred Cook Lamb. In
addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Larry Lamb; and nephew Houston Daniels. Survivors
include his loving wife of 37 years Sonja Cline Lamb; a daughter Selena Lamb and companion Tyler Adkins of
Huntington; two sons Ryan Lamb of Huntington and James Alan Lamb of Oceana; a sister Vicki Lamb and
companion Rudolph Tilley of Oceana; a brother Kenny Lamb and wife Cheryl of Oceana; three grandchildren Elijah
Lamb, Emylee Lamb and Madyson Adkins; five nieces and nephews Rachel Hood, Rebecca Daniels, Kayla David,
Beth Lusk and Kurt Lamb; twelve great nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends. A
memorial service will be held at 5 pm on Sunday January 5, 2020 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home,
Lynco, WV with Rev. James Walker, William Charles Cook and Jackie McGinnis Whitley officiating.  Friends may

Jerrold Allen "Jerry" Walker, 50, of Oceana, WV  passed away on January 1, 2020 at Cornerstone Hospital,
Huntington, WV, following a long illness. He was born on May 31, 1969 in Mullens, WV, a son of Helen Irene
DorseyWalker of Oceana and the late James Michael Walker, Sr.; In addition to his father he is preceded in death
by two brothers Jonthon Miller and James Michael "Jimmy" Walker, Jr., and his grandfather James White
Walker. In addition to his mother survivors include a sister Joyce Lynn Miller of Lewisburg; three brothers Joe
Clark Walker of Coal Mountain, Daniel Shawn Walker of Beckley and Justin Curtis Miller of Roncevert; and a host
of other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 7 PM on Monday January 6, 2020 at the
Pentecostal House of Prayer, Lynco, WV with Pastor Roy Trent officiating. In keeping with his wishes he will be
cremated following the service.  Friends may gather with the family from 6-7 PM on Monday at the church. The

Lucy Ellen Lusk Grubb, 88, of Oceana, WV, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 1,
2020 at Raleigh General Hospital surrounded by her loving husband of 72 years, her children and extended
family, as they sang Amazing Grace. She was born on December 14, 1931 in Lorado, WV, a daughter of the late
Onnie Pierce and Mary Ellen Bailey Lusk; She was a member of Guyandotte Baptist Church, where she attended
faithfully. Her smile was infectious and everyone loved her. Her love for Jesus deeply touched her family, church
members and everyone she met. The influence of her love will remain forever and she will never be forgotten  In
addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four siblings, a son in law Roger Simpson and two
grandsons Mark Simpson and Nicholas Scott Abbott. Survivors include her loving husband of 72 years Ralph
Grubb, four daughters Glenda Simpson of Saulsville, Barbara (Paul) Jeffrey of Cyclone, Sue (Dwight) Laxton of
Matheny and Nancy (Harrison) Abbott of Kopperston; a son Greg (Toni) Grubb of Kopperston; siblings Sylvia
(Steve) Gibson, Leonard (Anita) Lusk and Earnel (Eleanor) Lusk; a sister in law Jean Lusk; eleven grandchildren
and twenty one great grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at
1:00 PM on Monday January 6, 2020 at the Guyandotte Baptist Church, Jesse, WV with Pastor Harrison Abbott
officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family

Benny Vincin Toler, 71, of Clear Fork, WV  went home to be with the Lord on Sunday January 5, 2020  at Bowers
Hospice House, Beckley, WV. He was born on November 12, 1948 in Reedy Creek, WV a son of the late Alda and
Vicie Harper Toler. Benny enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed
hunting, fishing and he was a regular at the Oceana McDonalds where he loved to visit his buddies. Benny loved
life and had a great sense of humor and always loved to make people laugh. He was a retired coal miner of 32
years, was All County and All Conference football player for Baileysville High School (1966), and was Middle
Weight Boxing Champion (1973) for WV, KY, and OH. He was also inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame (1982).
His children and grandchildren always say that he was their very own Super Hero. Benny is survived by his loving
wife Karen Ward Toler; his children, Benny Shawn Stafford of Salt Lake City UT, Dana Toler Helmandollar and her
husband Kevin of Sevierville TN, Shena Toler Lilly and her husband Preston of Crouches Farm WV, and Mardigon
Toler and his wife Jamie of Teays Valley WV; his sister Juanita (Toler) Morgan and her husband James of Simon
WV; his grandchildren include Benjamin, Kyra, and Sylvie Stafford; Haven ‘Jade’ and Elijah Helmandollar; Kaden,
Sarah, Gentry, and Silas Lilly; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family and friends. Funeral
services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday January 8th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco,
WV with Pastor Timmy Brewster officiating. He will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV.

Zida Aliff Trent Chambers, 96, of Laurel Branch, Clear Fork, WV  went home to be with the Lord on Monday
January 6, 2020  Beckley Appalachian Hospital, Beckley, WV. She was born on September 25, 1923 in Laurel
Branch, WV a daughter of the late Bee and Cora Toler Aliff. Zida is the last of her immediate family. In addition to
her parents she is preceded death by three brothers Albert (Ruth), Raymond (Masil) and Elmer (Elouine) Aliff; her
children Gene Trent, Geraldine Trent Pinter and Dwight Trent; her first husband Melvin Trent; and her second
husband Herbert Chambers. Survivors include her daughter Betty and Jerry King, with whom she lived and her
son Mike Trent all of Clear Fork; six grandchildren Jodi and Scott Parsons of Clear Fork, Randy King and Mark
Gonzalez of Jasper, AL, Angie and Kevin Battle of Perrysburg, OH, Amy Pinter of Oceana, Adam and Courtney
Trent of Clear Fork and Heather Trent of Charlotte, NC; great grandchildren Jeremiah Parsons and Addie Parsons
of Laurel Branch, Emily Battle of Perrysburg, OH, Harlee Pinter of Oceana and Jase Trent of Laurel Branch; and a

Patricia "Trish" Lester, 55, of Oceana, WV  received her healing while surrounded by her family on Tuesday
January 7, 2020. She was born on April 5, 1964 in Welch, WV a daughter of Shirley Temple Maynor Chambers of
Lynco and the late Dewey Chambers. She lived her life as a hard working, dedicated woman that carried a smile
for anyone she met. She was a stranger to no one and to know her was to love her. She was blessed with a large
family that loved her dearly. In addition to her father she is preceded in death by her grandparents; a brother
David Hearns; a niece Brandy Lynn; sister-in-law Teresa Maynor; and grandson Damien Vazquez. In addition to
her mother those left to celebrate her life are her husband of 20 years Bernie Lester; her children  Amanda (Brian)
Lester of Greeneville, TN and Crystal (Rick) Cutlip of Bluefield, Tony (Adreana) Lester of Oceana, Samantha Day
and fiancé Austin of Bluefield, J. J. (Amy)Vazquez  of Oceana, Abi (Josh) Trail of Beckley; grandchildren Brooklyn,
Tyler, Autumn, Remyngton, Weston, Braxton, Joshua, Ava, Marley, Athena, Ashur, Ian and Sidney; brothers and

Melva Jean Toler Burgess, 81, of Altamonte Springs, FL passed away peacefully, at home, on January 8. 2020.  
She was born June 9, 1938, in Kopperston, WV, the daughter and eldest child of Elery S. Toler and Vayor C.
(Brown) Toler.  Melva graduated from Van High School, class of 1956.  Following graduation, she went to work at
Edward Goodwin, WV State Capital, as a bookkeeper.  Shortly thereafter, Melva married Wayland “Wayne”
Burgess, of St. Albans, WV.  They moved to Bridgeport, WV, where they raised their two children, Pamela “Pam”
J. Burgess and Stephen D. Burgess.  Together, they owned and operated several successful businesses, including
The West Virginia Restaurant and Republic Fence Company.  In 1984, the family relocated to Orlando, FL.  Melva
enjoyed a successful career as Senior Tax Analyst of AAA Headquarters, in addition to owning and operating her
own accounting firm, Burgess Accounting.  It was also during this time that she obtained her Bachelor’s degree
(Accounting) from Florida Southern College and enrolled in graduate studies at a local university.  At the time of
her husband’s death on June 7, 2012, they had been married 53 years. In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by her sister, Betty Nell Toler, her brother, Carl C. Toler and her other brother, Sherman E.
Toler. Surviving her are her two children, Pamela J. Burgess and Stephen Burgess, both of Altamonte Springs.
Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday January 15th at Toneda Missionary Baptist Church,
Kopperston, WV. She will be laid to rest in Kopperston Community Cemetery, Kopperston, WV. Friends may
gather with the family from 12 pm until time of services on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers

Gavin Kahne Cook, 12, of Kopperston, WV went home to play in God's playground on Wednesday January 8,
2020 in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV. He was born on August 15, 2007 in Charleston, WV the son
of Tiffany Machelle Brunty Cook of Kopperston and Keith Sefton Cook of Oceana. He is preceded in death by his
great grandmothers Nora Lee Brunty and Jean Smith; great grandfather Carless Lusk; and a cousin Alexis
Mullins. In addition to his parents survivors include his grandparents Guy Brunty, Debbie (Ron) Hall, Florence
Cook and Clyde Cook; great grandfather Guy Brunty, Sr.; aunts and uncles Trey Brunty, Paige (Dustin) Walker,
Rhianna Wagoner, Melanie (Eugene) Mullins, Kevin (Rhonda) Cook and Chris (Kathy) Cook; his cousins Alex
Brunty, Rylee Walker, Karlee Walker, London Cook, Kadin Cook, Casey Cook and Maddie Cook; and a host of

Lynda Gladys Conley Christian, 72, of Lillydale, WV went home to be with the Lord on Friday January 10, 2020.
She was born on February 26, 1947 in Oceana, WV a daughter of the late William Ray and Nita Alice Adams
Conley. Lynda attended Joseph Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving
husband of 30 years David Lee Christian; a sister Sally Snodgrass; and a grandson Skyler Justyce Browning.
Survivors include two daughters Rebecca Christian (Bobby) Kennedy of Reedy Creek and Stephanie Dawn
Christian (Michael) Browning of Shady Spring; a son David Bryant (Erica) Christian of Oak Hill; a sister Cindy Rae
Conley (Powell) Cooke of Lillydale; a brother Robert Dale (Nancy) Conley of Lillydale; five grandchildren Courtney

Rev. Jerry Alden Cook, 75, of Princeton, WV went home to be with the Lord on Sunday January 12, 2020 at the
Glenwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Princeton, WV. He was born on April 26, 1944 in Roderfield, WV a
son of the late Rev. Loran Alden and Elsie Mae McKenzie Cook. Jerry attended the Ark of Safety at Roderfield. In
addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 24 years Lola May Wyatt Cook; a daughter
Joyce Ann Cook; three brothers Benny Ray Cook, Robert Cook and Paul Cook; two sisters Betty Ann Riggs and
Emogene Hughes; a step son Charles White. Survivors include two daughters Jodie Cook and Cathy Cook of OH;

Lutia Ann Lamb Prichard, 56, of Henderson, NC, formerly of Oceana, WV went home to be with the Lord on
January 9, 2020 at her home following a short illness. She was born on May 9, 1963 in Welch, WV the daughter
Lutia Maynard Lamb of Kopperston and the late Alvin J. Lamb. Ann is a 1981 graduate of Oceana High School, a
member of Toneda Missionary Baptist Church and  the previous owner Ann's Fashion in Oceana.. In addition to
her father she is preceded in death by her grandparents Edna and Bert Maynard and Woodrow and Fairie Lamb;
and uncle Wade Maynard; and an Aunt Sadie DeLong. In addition to her mother survivors include her loving
husband Eric Prichard; three aunts Edra Smith of Columbus, OH, Ruth (Ron Altizer) Whittington of Oceana and
Bethel (Murray) Baker of Seattle, WA; two uncles James (Lola) Lamb of Chapin, SC and Roy (Jane) Lamb of AL;

Barbara Sue Cline, 74, of Oceana, WV went home to be with the Lord on Sunday January 12, 2020 at Hubbard
Hospice, South Charleston, WV. She was born on June 26, 1945 in Sunhill, WV a daughter of the late William
Squire and Maggie Pearl Blankenship Toler. Barbara attended the Oceana Church of God. In addition to her
parents she is preceded in death by two sisters Burnice Morgan and Joyce Ann Blankenship; and a nephew Jeffery
Blankenship. Survivors include two sons Samuel Dewayane (Kim) Cline of NC and Eric Scott (Maryann) Cline of
Eleanor; two sisters Emma (William) Morgan of Lillydale and Brenda (Ottway) Elkins of Oceana; a brother Fairley
(Wanda) Toler of Kopperston; four grandchildren Kelsey Cline, Hanna Cline, Tyler Curtis Cline and Tyler Cline;

Stanley Lewis Pendry, 54, of Welch, WV passed away on January 16, 2020 in Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley,
WV. He was born on November 8, 1965 in Mullens, WV a son of the late Frank T. and Minnie J. Bailey Pendry.
Stanley is a member of Trinity Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church and a United States Marine Corp. Veteran. In
addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a nephew Benjamin Ruley. Survivors include three daughters
Kimberly Ann Pendry, Alesha Jane Pendry and Rachael Elizabeth Pendry all of Welch; four sisters Iris (Buzz)
Workman of Pineville, Glenda (Danny) Pizzino of Glen Fork, Letha (Roger) Gilstrap of Durham, NC and Vanessa

Jeremy Ryan Smith, 26, of Oceana, WV passed away on January 12, 2020. He was born on January 7, 1994 in
Welch, WV a son of William Joseph Smith and Angela Kay Whitson Church. He is preceded in death by his
grandfather Billy Joe Smith; great grandmothers Hazel Aley and Beatrice George; an aunt Robin Smith; and uncle
Robbie George. In addition to his parents survivors include his wife Savannah Holstiene Smith; a daughter Alanah

Roger Lee Cook, 67, of Cyclone, WV passed away on January 18, 2020 at Cabell Huntington Hospital in
Huntington, WV, following a short illness. He was born May 13, 1952 in Celina, OH, a son of the late Billy Reed
Cook and Deloris Jean Smith. Roger was a disabled veteran of the United States Air Force. In addition to his
father, he is preceded in death by his mom and dad who raised him, Anthony R Cook and Susie P Cook; his loving
wife Karen Faye Cook; companion Goldie Evans; a granddaughter Nevaeh Marie Hypes; an uncle he considered as
a brother Russell Cook.  Survivors include three children, Tina McNeely of Branchland, WV,  Maranda Cook (Petie
Hypes) of Cyclone, WV and Mitchell (Heather) Cook of Hardy, VA; Six grandchildren, Karlee Cook, Lucas Cook,
Tre’ Hypes, Lucy Cook, Tegan Hypes and Kinzley Hypes; his mother Deloris Smith and sister Cynthia Smith of
Greensboro, NC; brother Russell (Sherry) Brown of Davin, WV; brother Tony (Tammy) Cook of Clintonville, WV; a

David Russell Spaulding, 67, of Oceana, West Virginia crossed the finish line on Saturday, January 18th
surrounded by his family. David was born on September 17, 1952 in Welch, WV. David is survived by his loving
wife, Sherry, whom he adored for the 49 years of their marriage. He is also survived by his children: Michelle
Short of Oceana, Heather Osborne and her husband Adam Osborne of Bolt, and Ryan and his wife Lindsey of
Cross Lanes. David has left a beautiful legacy for his five grandchildren, who were his pride and joy: Cody and
Chase Short, Riley and Peyton Osborne, and Jacob Spaulding. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Rosie
Perry of Cyclone, his three sisters, Paula Beck of Georgia, Sharon Holiday and Judy Dolfemeyer of Virginia, and a
host of family and friends. David was preceded in death by his parents, Lois Adkins and Max Spaulding, his
father-in-law, Hayes Perry, and his son-in-law, Micah Short. David proudly served in the Unites States Air Force
and was a Vietnam Veteran who selflessly and faithfully served God, his country, and his family. He was a coal
miner, a member of the Mine Rescue Team, and a member and Deacon of Toler Missionary Baptist Church. A
celebration of life will be held at Toler Missionary Baptist Church on Campus at 1:00pm on Friday, January 24th,
with Rev. Merle Walls and Rev. Clarence Gibson officiating. Burial following at Palm Memorial Gardens. Viewing
will be held at Stafford Family Funeral Home in Lynco on Thursday, January 23rd from 5:00-8:00 pm. The

Ronald Gene Hargis, 76, of Huntington, WV, formerly of Pineville, WV passed away on January 24, 2020. He was
born on Jume 25, 1943 in Pineville, WV a son of the late Ervin Hargis and Juanita Ferrell. In addition to his
parents he is preceded in death  preceded in death by his son Craig Hargis and a brother Jimmy Hargis. Survivors
include his daughters Melissa Hargis of Pineville and Christy McAfee of PA; his ex-wife and caretaker Debbie

Nickolas Todd Noon, 20, of  Mullens, WV passed away on Thursday January 23, 2020 from injuries sustained in
an automobile accident. He was born on January 29, 1999 in Beckley, WV a son of Nina McKendree Noon Trent
of Rockview and Robert Lee Noon, Jr. of Baltimore, MD. He was a 2018 graduate of Wyoming East High School
and work at Twin Falls Resort State Park. He was preceded in death by a brother Anthony "Pete" Monk, II, his

Aubrey Wallace "Bud" Chambers, 90, of  Elk Lick, WV passed away on Monday January 27, 2020 at Bowers
Hospice House, Beckley, WV. He was born May 6, 1929 in Peterstown, WV, a son of the late Alcana Wilson and
Rosa Lee Howard Chambers.  He was a US Army Veteran. Through the years Bud and his family attended the
Brenton Church of God, Rose Heights Church of God in Tyler, Texas and the Clear Fork Advent Christian Church.
He was a man of faith with a strong Christian walk and loved gardening and spending time with his family and
friends. He was an outstanding husband, father, grandfather and friend. In addition to his parents, he was

Dora Ann Greer Bailey, 78, of  Ravencliff, WV gained her angel wings on February 1, 2020 at her home. She was
born on March 13, 1941 in Saxton, WV a daughter of the late Oren and Lorena Elswick Greer. Dora was a loving
mother and grandmother to all. and the last surviving member of her family. In addition to her parents she is
preceded in death by her husband Carlos Pip Bailey; two daughters Betty and Teresa; four sons Carlos Jr., Mike,
Anthony and Frankie; six sisters Delores, Fredia, Viller, Wrene, Rose and Martha; two brothers Phillip and Billy.

Franklin Farris Walls, 63, of  Turkey Creek, WV passed away on Tuesday February 11, 2020 at CAMC Memorial
Hospital, Charleston, WV. He was born on August 22, 1956 in Welch, WV a son of the late Guy and Lillian Griffith
Walls. Franklin is a member of the UMWA and of the Baptist Faith. He was the last surviving member of his
family.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings Leon "Pee Wee", Patricia, Arlene, Alice,

Naomi Lee (Powers) Halsey, 88, of Clover, SC, formerly of Glen Fork, went to be with the Lord February 13,
2020. She was born September 11, 1931, at Glen Fork , WV.  Mrs. Halsey was a wife, mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother and sister. She was a member of Glen Fork Baptist Temple for 60 years. She was employed
by the Wyoming County Board of Education for 14 years as a bus driver. She enjoyed serving families, students,
and camaraderie with administrators and coworkers.  Mrs. Halsey was preceded in death by her parents:
Howard and Viola (Powers) Sigmon; her husband of 63 years, Clifford Halsey; and a sister, Sylvia Geraldine
Price.  Her family includes four children: Dr. Larry Halsey (Mary) of Beckley; Timothy Halsey (Andrea) of Clover,

Shelby Ann Haga Stapleton, 71, of Matheny, WV was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus and her eternal
Heavenly home on Tuesday February 18, 2020 at her home following a long illness. She was born on December 5,
1948 in Oceana, WV a daughter of the late Archie and Effie Pennington Haga. She was a wonderful Christian and
of the Pentecostal faith. She loved the Lord with all her heart. She loved her church, but due to illness she
couldn't attend often. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two sisters Juanita Morgan and Ellen
Tiller; a brother Bruce Haga; and two infant brothers Mitchell and Wayne Haga. Those left to cherish her memory
are her loving husband of 52 years Doug Stapleton; her children Doug (Debbie) Stapleton, Jr. of Matheny, Angie

Cataline Bobbie Perry, 82, of Cyclone, WV took her journey home surrounded by family on February 17, 2020
following a 14 month battle with cancer. Born June 13, 1937 in Sunhill, WV the daughter of the late Garland
"Bud"  and Stella Brinegar Carter. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59
years Billy Ray  Perry; a son Wilfred Wesley Perry; four brothers Roy, Buddy, Roger, and Bill Carter; a sister Helen
Workman; and father-in-law Hayes Perry. Bobbie was a homemaker that devoted her life to her church, family ,
and her community. She was a member of Cyclone Missionary Baptist Church for 50 years. She taught the
toddlers in Sunday School, sang in the choir, taught Vacation Bible School, was President of Ladies Aide and
Church custodian. Bobbie was in charge of Food Baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas, she always made sure
that each Veteran received both Valentines and Christmas cards, directed many church plays. One of her favorite
accomplishments was earning the title of Miss Bobbie" from her Sunday School children. Her hobbies include
working in her flower garden and fishing at Smith Mountain Lake. Those left to cherish her memory are her five

and other loving family and friends. A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held at 1 pm on Friday February 28th at
the Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Ravencliff, WV with Ann Hill and David Shumate officiating. She will
be laid to rest in Lafferty Family Cemetery, McGraws, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 12 pm until

David Forest Stewart, 70, of Oceana, WV passed away on Sunday February 23, 2020 at his home. He was born on
February 20, 1950 in Jesse, WV a son of the late Joseph Forest and Sadie Stewart. David is a member of the
Matheny United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, Choir Director and a
member of the Financial Board. He is a member of the UMWA Local Union 1503 and worked at Harris Mines for
30 years. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his in-laws Fred and Zella Gunnoe; and sister and
brother-in-law Lola and Ed Stewart. Survivors include his loving wife Joselene Gunnoe Stewart; children
Anthony "Tony"   Stewart  and wife Michelle of Panther, Carrie Jenkins of Charlotte, NC and Amy Waddell of Mt.
Holly, NC; grandchildren Tyler Stewart of the home, Paul Duty of Charlotte, NC, Jonah Stewart of Gastonia, NC
and Glen Stewart of Panther; brothers Ash P. Stewart, Earl Stewart and wife Alice, Windell Stewart and wife
Brenda  and Dale  Stewart and wife Teresa all of Matheny; sisters Linda Counts and husband Jack of Matheny,
Louise Stewart and husband Calvin of Matheny, Lakie Bailey and husband Bernard all of Oceana and Rhonda
Lynn Stewart and husband Sam of Matheny; and a host of other loving family and friends. In keeping with his

Vaunda Pearl Lusk Boothe, 90, of Cyclone, WV departed this life on February 23, 2020 following a short illness at
Logan Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on May 26, 1929 in Cyclone, WV a
daughter of the late Dee and Addie Mae Lusk. She is a member of the Bright Prospect Missionary Baptist Church.
Vaunda was one of the oldest residents of Cyclone, living her entire life in Bear Spring Hollow. She lived a simple
country life on her small farm where she loved caring for her livestock, raising bountiful gardens, and beautiful
flower beds. Vaunda was a classy lady who always took pride in her appearance. She thought no outfit was
complete without lipstick and pearls. She found happiness in preparing Sunday dinners, peeling apples and
stringing beans. Vaunda was well known for her delicious homemade maple and apple butter stack cakes. In
addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years Rev. Joseph Boothe; a son
Ronnie Joe Boothe; two grandsons Ronnie Joe Boothe, II and Lawrence Lee Boothe; four granddaughters Vaunda
Opal Harvey, Rena Chapman, Delana Boothe and Melanie Boothe; three brothers Troy, Lane, and Marvin; five
sisters Oma Brown, Athlene Brown, Audra Johnson, Elma Wallace and Lake Perry; her lifelong best friend Gretcha
Brown. Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter Donna Harvey of Tennessee; four sons Lonnie
(Margie) Boothe, Gary Boothe, Willie (Rhonda) Boothe, and Scottie (Delinda) Boothe all of Cyclone; nine
grandchildren John (Vicki) Harvey, David (Melissa) Harvey, Kathy Harvey, Ronnie Boothe, Henry (Crystal) Lusk,
Savannah (Christopher) Blankenship, Lavaunda (Coby) Toler, Sarah Boothe, and Samuel Boothe; nineteen great
grandchildren; a host of great great grandchildren; a sister Margie Gish of Clearwater, FL; her special family from
Delaware Renee "Loulee" McGee and her companion Robert "Honeybun" Fritz, Kimberly Grace and her son Jesse,
David (Donna) Wallace, and Sharee Coleman, and her three loyal pets Coco, Katie, and Miss Priss; and a host of
other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday February 27, 2020 at the Bright
Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, Cyclone, WV with Rev. Jackie Lusk officiating. She will be laid to rest at her

Raevena "Rosalie" Jackson Beverly, 82, of Pineville, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February
25, 2020 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV. She was born on March 19, 1937 in Fanrock, WV a daughter of
the late Urchel and Burley Barrett Jackson. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband
Gerald Beverly; a daughter Violet Okoll; two sisters Barbara "Bobbie" Barnette and Lela Lester; a niece Anne
Mitchell; son-in-law Aleks Okoll; and brother-in-law Harold Barnette. Survivors include a daughter Angela Hall
of MI; two sons Steve  (Becky) Beverly of MI and Glenn (Leety) Beverly of WV; a sister Kathy (David) Belcher of
WV; two brothers Donald (Barbara) Jackson of WV and Bernie (Pam) Jackson of VA; fourteen grandchildren;
nineteen great grandchildren; a special niece who was like a daughter Tereasa West; and a host of nieces,
nephews and other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday February 29th in
the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Ronald Lester and Rev. Gary Walker

Randy Jay Toler, 51, of North Spring, WV passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2020. He was born on March
22, 1968 in Mullens, WV a son of Ivory Brown Toler of Coal Mountain and the late Odell Toler. Randy was
employed by Coal Mountain Energy. In addition to his mother survivors include his loving wife of seven years
Penny Collins Toler; two sons Garrett (Mandi) Toler of Pounding Mills, VA and Jonas Toler of North Spring; a
step daughter Sarah Wallace of North Spring; a step son Henry Wallace of North Spring; four sisters Debbie
(Dave) Dugger of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Della (Allan) Harris of Coal Mountain, Katie (Keith) Hatfield of Coal
Mountain and April (Andrew) Lemons of Alderson; six brothers Hank (Diane) Toler, Ernest Toler, Darren
(Cynthia) Toler, Michael (Aleta) Toler and Scotty (Priscilla) Toler all of Coal Mountain and Brian (Sabrina
Morgan) Toler of Oceana; seventeen nieces and nephews; twenty-six  great nieces and nephews; one great great

James Roland Osborne, 82, of Davin, WV went home to be with the Lord while in the arms of his loving wife and
surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan, WV.
He was born on April 15, 1937 in Lorado, WV a son of the late James R. and Leola M. Brown Osborne. James is a
member of the UMWA. He loved sitting on the porch reading the newspaper and drinking his coffee. He loved
his dog Mojo. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters Edna Mae Elswick and Melva
Osborne; and three brothers Jimmy Osborne, Jessie Osborne and Larry Osborne. Survivors include his loving wife
of almost 59 years Inis DeLong Osborne; four daughters Cathy Lynn Lyall of Davin, Sue (Pat) Rader of Cross
Lanes, Jessica (Bobby) Hicks of Davin and Jennifer Lynette Osborne of Davin; six grandchildren Rebekah
Bartram, J. D. Vest, Christy Vest, Carrie Jo Rader, Allison Hicks and Blake Hicks; five great grandchildren

Earl Osborne, 62, of Glen Daniel, WV passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at his home with family by
his side. He was born on July 31, 1957 in Lorado, WV the son of the late Willard and Dulcie White Osborne. Earl
was a lifelong timber cutter traveling around the world cutting timber. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors
working in the garden, and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by
four brothers Michael Osborne, Sherman Osborne, Freddie Osborne and Charlie Osborne; two sisters Sissy
Osborne and Sadie Gibson; and a daughter Marsha Riley. Survivors include his wife Freda Gibson Osborne; four
daughters Crystal Riley of Man, Jennifer (Eddie Ray) Lilly of Glen Daniel, Dulcie Gibson of Beckley and Crystal
(Jason) Tolliver of Glen Daniel; two step daughters Melissa Kelly of Beckley and Amber Sexton of Parkersburg;
two sisters Joann Gibson of Lundale and Pearl Toler of Mt. Gay; two brothers Jimmy Osborne of Kopperston and
Kenny Osborne of Ritchie County; eight grandchildren Thomas Riley, James Ellis, Donovan Riley, Courtney
