Thomas Edward "Tommy" Fleenor, 74, of Oceana, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday June 30, 2020
at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 20, 1946 in Kopperston, WV a son of the
late Thomas Garland and Goldie Eder Spears Fleenor. Tommy is a United States Air Force Veteran and a member
of the Disabled American Veterans. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son Eddy Lee Fleenor;
two brothers Paul Fleenor and Danny Fleenor; a sister Nancy Dixon;  his father and mother-in-law Shallus and
Martha Ellen Elkins; and several uncles and aunts. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 51
years Barbara Ann Elkins Fleenor; a son T. J. Fleenor of Oceana; two sisters Charlotte Maynor of Oceana and Jean
Ann (Roy) Castle of Castlewood, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. Funeral

Bobby Lee Steele, 35, of Panther, WV, passed away on Tuesday June 30, 2020 in Pikeville Medical Center,
Pikeville, KY. He was born on June 15, 1985 in Logan, WV a son of Quincy Steele of Panther and the late Irene
McCoy Steele. Bobby loved riding four wheelers, fishing and spending time with family and friends. In addition to
his mother he is preceded in death by a son Cameron Mitchell; a brother Jamie Steele; grandparents J. B. and
Helen Cline and Louie and Elizabeth Steele; uncles Roger Steele, Keister Steele, Vincil Powell and Irvin Powell;

Charles Conley "Connie" Bailey, 65, of Hinton, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Monday June 29, 2020 at
McDowell Nursing and Rehab, Gary, WV. He was born on January 13, 1955 in Welch, WV a son of  Shelby Mitchell
Bailey of Hinton and the late James Edward Bailey. In addition to his father he is preceded in death by a two
nephews Eddie Lee Wills and Michael Meadows; a niece Yolanda Meadows.  Survivors include two sons Erik Bailey
and Daniel Bailey both of NC; a step daughter Theresa Kuhn of NC; two sisters Lisa Wills and Debbie Meadows
both of Hinton; a brother Terry Ray Mitchell of Shannon Mill Creek; two grandchildren Erika and Kali; and a host

Nancy Jane Rollins Milam, 88, of Pineville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday July 2, 2020. Nancy
was born in Raleigh County, WV on October 12, 1931 to Jonathan and Rosa Lafferty Trump Rollins. In addition to
her parents she is preceded in death by all of her brothers Hugh and Wilson Trump and Jack, Jim and Jonathan
Darrell Rollins; her sisters Ocie Ballard and Augusta "Gussy" Walker; nephew Johnny Walker; the father of her
children, Ernest "Casey" Milam; sons Paul and Randy Hugh "Huey" Milam; and a granddaughter Pauline Allen.

Gregory "Mad Dog" Toler, 58, of Coal Mountain, WV, passed away on Wednesday July 1, 2020 at Logan Regional
Medical Center, Logan, WV. He was born on November 17, 1961 in Pineville, WV a son of the late Raymond and
Claudia Toler. he enjoyed riding a four wheeler and playing his guitar with Marvin and Danny Morgan, Tommy
Hatfield and his sister Gennie Trull. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings Raymond
Toler, Jr., Virginia Toler, Larry Toler, Gerald Toler, Murphy Toler, Christopher Toler, Gloria Toler and Tammy
Toler; and a brother-in-law Roger Morgan. Survivors include six sisters Donna Spurlock, Josephine Baker,
Claudetta Paul, Genevieve Trull, Joan Morgan and Juanita (Gregory) Kenneda; three brothers Carl Toler, Timmy

William Kermit Justice, 86, of Indian Creek, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday June 30, 2020 at his
home. He was born on November 28, 1933 in Asco, WV a son of the late Floyd and Margie Watts Justice. He is a
member of the first Baptist Church in Welch and attends the Independent Church of God at Clear Fork. He is a
United States Korean Marine Veteran. He is the last surviving member of his family. In addition to his parents he
is preceded in death by a son Timothy Clark Justice; and five sisters Nannie, Myrtle, Mary Doris, Eda and Thelma
Lou. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years Francis Louise Mills Justice; a daughter Belinda Kay (Michael)

2020 at his residence. He was born on June 28, 1961 in Welch, WV, a son of  Rev. Raymond Lewis Bishop and
wife Shelby of Lincolnton NC and the late Alma Lee Finley Bishop. He was an equipment operator and a member
of the Rockview Pentecostal Tabernacle in Rockview, WV.  In addition to his mother he was proceeded in death
by his maternal grandparents Fred and Ruth Finley and his paternal grandparents Paris and Roxie Bishop.
Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years Donna Jean Russell Bishop; four sons Charles L. (Ashley) Bishop, II,

James Edward and Mary Ada Lambert Brown. She was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith. In addition to her

Beatrice Ann Osborne Workman, 53, of Cyclone, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday July  1, 2020
at her residence. She was born on December 6, 1966 in Man WV, a daughter of the late Swettie Vaughn and Brady
Lusk Osborne. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bright Prospect Missionary Baptist  Church in Cyclone,
WV.  Survivors include her loving husband of 37 years Jerry Gordon Workman; two sons Adam Workman and
Kyle (Leslie) Workman both of Cyclone WV; two brothers Beecher Osborne and Willie Osborne both of Cyclone

Linda Sue Toler Walls, 73, of Cyclone, WV, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 27, 2020.
Leaving this world as an angel. She was born on September 14, 1946. Linda's life was devoted to traveling and
singing for the glory of God. She was such a joy and wonderful person to be around. A light to us all. A wonderful,
caring, loving mother and sister who loved her family and church family dearly. Those there to welcome her home

2020 at her home. She was born on January 27, 1949 in Man, WV, a daughter of the late Nan Blankenship and
Georgie Ann Bowens Thomas. Barbara was a homemaker and attended the Oceana United Methodist Church. In
addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a son Garrick Cook and a grandson Jacob Isaiah Franklin.

at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. She was born on January 24, 1947 in Matheny, WV a daughter of the
late Bennie Talley and Ida Belcher Lafferty. Margaret was a homemaker and a member of Faith Baptist Church. In
addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband Landy Lay Osborne; one sister Vena
Lafferty; and two brothers Walter Lafferty and William Lafferty. Those left to cherish her memory include her

Earl Eugene Thomas, 68, of Bedford, VA, passed away on Thursday June 25, 2020 surrounded by his adoring
family. He was born on November 16, 1951 in Richlands, VA a son of the late Rufus Thomas and Edna  and Fred
Witt. Earl is a member of the UMWA from his many years in the coal mines of West Virginia. He loved spending
time with his family, taking it easy enjoying their company, riding four wheelers, horseback riding, and camping.
He also had a passion for guns and hunting. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a granddaughter
Sabrina Thomas; a brother Dewy Thomas; and a good friend Mack Hall. He is survived by his loving wife of 45
years Linda Hall Thomas; four sons Mickle (Jessica), Lee (Crystal), Stevie (Tori) and Kevin; eight grandchildren
Rebecca (Gabe), Cody, Elizabeth (Trey), Jacob, Coleman, Alexander, Leland and Haleigh; a brother James

Billy Gene Stapleton, 73, of Cyclone, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday July 9, 2020 in Baptist
Hospital, Winston-Salem, NC. He was born April 9, 1947 in Wayne County, WV a son of the late Earl Robert and
Ferna Hallie Wallace Stapleton. He was a retired Coal Miner, Long Haul Truck driver and a member of the UMWA.
Billy lived his life in Logan and Wyoming Counties, where he loved spending time with family and friends. He had
a lifelong love of learning at Southern West Virginia Community College. Billy loved his wife, children,
grandchildren, and great grandchild. Billy would do anything he could for the people he cared about. In addition
to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents George W. and Malinda Likens Stapleton and Jay
and Beatrice Wallace; a sister Brenda Joyce Stapleton Fuller; two brothers Christopher Stapleton and Earl Robert
Stapleton, Jr.; two brother-in-laws Ronnie Gaye Fuller and Rick Saunders; and a nephew Stephen Bias. Survivors
include his loving wife of 50 years Arminta Bailey Stapleton; a daughter Melissa (Ray) Stapleton Ball of Conover,

Ellena D. Belcher Massey, 71, of Oceana, WV, went home to be with the Lord on June 25, 2020 at Bowers Hospice
House, Beckley, WV. She was born on March 12, 1949 in Oceana a daughter of the late Ralph and Hazel Hughes
Belcher. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers Dennis and Ronald Belcher; a sister
Judy Belcher; brother-in-law Tommy Marsh; and nephew Taylor Cook. Survivors include her husband Roger
Massey; three sisters Anna Marsh, Sharon (Wilson) Proffitt and Karen (Ronnie) Woolridge; a brother Jimmy

Kennie Roger Acord, 77, of Matheny, WV went home to be with the Lord on July 12, 2020 at Cleveland Clinic,
Cleveland, OH following a long illness. He was born December 4, 1942 in Oceana, WV a son of the late Henderson
Pierce Acord and the late Delilah Gaye Acord Reed and the late Herbert Reed. In addition to his parents he was
also preceded in death by a son Kennie "Peewee" Henderson Acord, a daughter Laura Fogliasso, brothers Pierce
Acord, Aubrey Acord and Franklin Acord, Sr. Kennie was a member of Delilah Methodist Church. Kennie was a
retired welder and  a member of the UMWA at Kopperston #1 Shop. He loved hunting and fishing. His family was
what he lived for. He had a passion for spending time at his cabin with his family. Kennie was always joking and
making everyone laugh. He never met a stranger. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 22 years,
Sue Sizemore Acord; daughters Melinda Kay Acord, Shandrea (David Dodson) Sizemore and Denise Koopman;

Mica Dawn Walker, 37, of Oceana, WV, passed away Monday, June 22, 2020, at Ruby Memorial Hospital,
Morgantown, WV following a short illness.  She was born on April 12, 1983 in Beckley, WV a daughter of Michael
Lee "Mike" and Teresa Darlene Cook Walker of Oceana. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Henry and
Lola Walker and Helen Walker, Edward and Hanner Cook; an aunt Doris "Vainy" Cook; and two uncles Robert Cook
and Roger Cline. In addition to her parents survivors include a sister Hope Walker of Sunhill; a brother Joshua
(Leann) Walker of Oceana; an uncle Michael Cook of Oceana; two aunts Judy Cline of Pineville and Debra (Greg)

Michael Douglas Kennedy, 40, of Matheny, WV, formerly of Long Branch, WV, passed away on Wednesday July
15, 2020. He was born June 22, 1980 in Mullens, WV, a son of Junior Lee Kennedy and the late Alice Marie Adkins
Kennedy. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his children and watching NFL Football. In addition to his
mother he was preceded in death by a good friend Mikey Colegrove. Survivors include his loving father Junior
Lee Kennedy and companion Anna Sutters of Long Branch; two children Allison Kaye-Lynn Kennedy and Colton
Chase Kennedy; his companion of nine years Melissa Kaye Clark; three sisters Diana (Kip) Neace of Pineville,
Rhonda (Dewayne) Lester of Hanover and Rosana (David) Toler of Clear Fork; three brothers Robert (Delores)

Edward “Ed” A. Harless, Jr., 79, of Oceana, West Virginia, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2020, at Bower’s Hospice
House following a short but courageous battle with cancer.  He was born on August 6, 1940, in Gilbert, WV to
Bino and Macie Elkins-Harless. Ed was larger than life with a boisterous personality and an air of confidence that
is rarely ever duplicated. Some of Ed’s proudest accomplishments included being a businessman, barber,
politician, one of the areas greatest boxing coaches, an avid fisherman, and golfer.  Ed served his country in the
Army National Guard from 1964-1967. An uncompromising pillar in the community, Ed will be greatly missed by
many.  He is survived by his wife, Peggy Harless, daughter Joyel (Scottie) Finley of Milton, WV; son, Parrish
Harless of Las Vegas, Nevada, “adopted” daughter, Maria Finley of Milton, WV; and a sister-in-law and nephew,
Sandra and Dwayne (Colleen) Gilbert. In addition to his parents, Ed’s wife of 47 years, Freda, proceeded him in
death. The family wishes to express their warmest thanks to Jeff Prichard (our rock), Hospice of Southern West
Virginia, Bower’s Hospice House, and Doctors Paul Conley and Andrew Petterson of Plateau Medical Center,  for

Sandra G. Lester, 72 of Brier Creek, WV, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at the Wyoming
Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, New Richmond, WV, following a long illness. She was born on October 15,
1947, in Wyoming County, WV, a daughter of the late Irvin Lester of Baileysville and the late Wilda (Sammie)
Lambert of Cambridge, OH. Sandra will be remembered for her love for her family and friends, along with her
witty sense of humor. She also loved her furry pets and everyone else's pets. Sandra enjoyed working in her
flower garden and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by
her brothers Stanley Lester, Jeff "Turk" Lambert, Terry Lester and Donald Lester; step-father Ralph Lambert,
step-mother Louise Lester and a brother-in-law John Chambers. Those left to cherish her memory include her
brothers Cassidy Lester and Larry Lester both of Brier Creek, Stevie Lester of Brenton, and Greg Lambert of
Cambridge, OH; sisters Denise Chambers of Cambridge, OH, Missy Lester and Vanessa Lester; a host of aunts,
uncles, nephews, nieces, sister-in-laws, cousins and friends. In keeping with Sandra's wishes she will be

Geneva Carol "Sally" Mitchell, 82, of Marianna, WV passed away on Saturday June 20, 2020 in Raleigh General
Hospital, Beckley, WV. She was born on December 12, 1937 in Baileysville, WV a daughter of the late Woodrow
and Lillian Ellis Short. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Paul Mitchell. Survivors
include two sons Steven Paul (Evie Josetta) Mitchell of Lexington, NC and Gregory Dean (Eunice) Mitchell of
Brenton; two brothers Roger (Judith) Fortner of Huntersville, NC and Jimmy (Margie) Short of FL; three
grandchildren Heather (Brennan) Worsencroft, Holly (Dennis)  Roark, and Gregory Paul Mitchell; four great
grandchildren Braylon Stephens, Carlos Alveraze, Liam Worsencroft and Isabella Roark; and a host of other loving
family and friends. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday June 24th at Palm Memorial Gardens,

Eula Blankenship Bailey went home to be with the Lord on July 16, 2020 at the age of 103.  She was born in
Bradshaw, WV, on October 23, 1916 to the late C.W. and Lottie Blankenship.  She was the oldest of 8 children
eventually settling in Clear Fork, WV, where she lived her entire life.  She graduated from Oceana High School in
1935 and then went on to Concord College graduating with her teaching degree and following her marriage to the
late Harry L. Bailey, she taught in a 2 room school house in Elk Lick for several years before becoming the Clear
Fork postmaster.  She held that position for 34 years, retiring in 1982.  Eula and Harry raised 2 daughters, Janet
and Ella.  In addition to her busy hours in the post office, she helped her husband, Harry, with their store, Bailey’s
General Store. She enjoyed needlework, crochet, embroidery and quilt piecing, and made beautiful throws for her
family and friends. She loved to travel, taking many trips with her husband in their motorhome, as well as going
on bus tours with a close group of girlfriends. Some of her favorite sites include New York, Niagara Falls, the
western states and Hawaii. She loved to work crossword and jigsaw puzzles.  She was also a big believer in
exercise.She was predeceased by her husband, both daughters, brothers; baby Franklin Blankenship, S.D.
Blankenship, King Edward Blankenship and W.C. Blankenship as well as her sister, Elga Jean Short.Those left to
treasure her legacy include her 2 sisters; Helen Toler and Glenna Sue Childress, as well as her son-in-law, Donald
Stanton, grandchildren; Kimberly Strickland, Angela Bossie, Chele Stanton, and Jon Michael Payne, and 13 great-
grandchildren; Jennifer, Daniel, Kristen, Elizabeth, Ben, Heath and Grant Strickland; Katie Bossie O’Guin and
Hannah Bossie; and Timothy, Matthew, Calvin, and Nick Payne; and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. She
will be buried in her family cemetery in Clear Fork, WV, and a Memorial service will be held at a later date.. A
special thank you is sent to the staff of Wyoming Nursing and Rehab for the loving care provided to her for the

Coetta Lynn Wray Atwell, 68, of Oceana, WV went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 19, 2020 at her
home. She was born on May 2, 1952 in Welch, WV a daughter of the Beatrice Wray. Coetta is a member of the
Joseph Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister Rosetta "Rose" Atwell
who she loved talking to; two brothers Clayton and Hershel Wray; mother and father-in-law William Lawrence
and Gladys Augusta Atwell; Daisy Mae Wray and Harry Belcher who lovingly raised her. Survivors include her
husband of 54 years Justin Wayne "Duke" Atwell, Sr.; a daughter Stephanie Lynn (Jonathan) Atwell of Beckley;
two sons Justin Wayne (Katrina) Atwell, Jr. of Oceana and Lonnie Ray (June) Atwell of Pittsburg, PA; two sisters
Jackie Craddock and Volita Vanber both of MD; a brother Henry Conner of MD; six grandchildren Brandi Long,
Brittney (Michael) Atwell, Tiffany (Chad) Kemp, Austin Atwell, Taylor Stepp and Jason Alex Atwell; and a host of

Eugene Herman Cook, 82, of Holly Hills, WV, formerly of Oceana passed away on Wednesday July 22, 2020 at his
home. He was born on November 12, 1937 in Lorado, WV a son of the late Aubrey and Nina Morgan Cook. In
addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years Juanita Farley Cook; a daughter
Karen Curley; two sons Jeff Cook and James Cook; and a grandson Taylor Cook. Survivors include a daughter Kelli
Roach of Collinsville, VA; a son John (Ashley) Cook of Oceana; eight grandchildren Jerad (Brooke), John Michael,

of Crouch's Farm, WV transitioned from this life to the next on June 15, 2020, surrounded by his family after a
five and half year battle with colon cancer. Rob was born July 20, 1952 to the late Robert C. and Bobbie Jean
Crouch. He lived his whole life on Crouch's Farm. He was a 1970 graduate of Oceana High School and attended
Beckley College before deciding to go into the coal mines where he worked thirty-four years. He loved to deer
and turkey hunt and spend time with his friends. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a beloved
daughter Desiree; a brother Mike Crouch; a nephew Lucas Marcum; and a dear aunt June Farren whom he loved
like a mother. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-six years Letha; a daughter Calista Trent; grandchildren
Finley Crouch, Kylee and Dylan Trent, whom he loved with all his heart; an aunt Phyllis Clark; sister-in-law Lana
Marcum; several nieces and nephews and too many friends to mention; his very dear friend Doug Trull, who
fought beside him all the way, the true meaning of friend. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated. A
Memorial service will be held at 5:00 on Saturday June 27, 2020 at the Clear Fork Valley Baptist Church with
Pastor Erwin Gregory officiating. Friends may gather with the family from 3:00 until service time at the church

Connie Yvonne Barlow, 70 of Clear Fork passed on Friday, July 24, 2020 at Bower’s Hospice in Beckley following
a long illness. She was born on October 26, 1949 in Pineville , West Virginia. She was the daughter of Johnie
Blankenship and Hazel Faye Matney Blankenship. Connie was a 1967 graduate of Oceana High School and a
disabled Registered Nurse of 20 years receiving her Associates Degree in nursing from Southern West Virginia
Community College and was employed at Welch Community Hospital, Community Health Foundation in Man,
West Virginia where she served proudly as Director of the Black Lung Clinic where she adored her patients and
they adored her as well, OH-9 and Wyoming County Council on Aging in Home Health Care. She also was a
homemaker where she cared for her husband and children all while obtaining her nursing degree and also briefly
owned and operated Rick’s Drive Inn in Oceana where she used her great cooking skills and would always stay up
late at night after work at her regular job preparing lunch and dinner specials for the next day. Connie was a
devout Christian after giving her life to her Lord and Savior at the age of 12 and kept her faith to God her entire
life. Connie was one of the original founding members of the Blessed Hope Singers singing and ministering at
churches all over southern West Virginia and several states for over 40 years up until her illness wouldn’t allow
her to travel. Connie was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband of 32 years Walter Barlow, father-in-
laws Dan Barlow and Ott Osborne, mother-in-law Helen Grace Wilson Barlow Osborne, a brother Donnie
Blankenship and step-mother Rosa Lea Blankenship. She is survived by her “Buttons and Bows” Derk, sons Jeff
and wife Anitra Barlow of Jesse, Shannon Barlow of Clear Fork, Jacob Ray Barlow of Clear Fork and daughters
Lisa Ross and her husband Jerry of White Sulpher Springs and Lisa Barlow of Charleston and her grandchildren
Marissa Moore Barlow and her fiancé Ryan Adams of Pineville, Laken Barlow and her boyfriend Aaron Blevins of

Douglas Lea Hager, 57, of Oceana, WV, passed away on Wednesday August 5, 2020 at Appalachian Regional
Hospital, Beckley, WV. He was born on October 26, 1962 in Mullens, WV a son of the late Blevins Hager, Sr. and
Christlene Yvonne Walker Hensley. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son Dexter Lea Hager;
and two brothers Blevins Hager, Jr. and David William Hager. Survivors include a son Derek Hager of Cyclone;
four sisters Sylvia Workman of Kopperston, Darlene Cooke (Frenchie) Duty of Oceana, Gloria Jean Harper of
Kings Mt., NC and Betty Christian of Chattanooga, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family

Ronald C. Samples, 78, of Oceana, passed away on June 9, 2020, at Duke University Medical center in Durham,
North Carolina.  Surrounded by his loving children, he slipped away to a Heavenly reunion with his beloved wife
Dorthina. Mr. Samples was born on August 28, 1941 in Oceana, the son of the late Riley and Anna Samples.  
Except for his service in the US Army, he lived his life in Oceana, where he raised his family, made lasting
friendships, golfed with his son and brothers and served his Lord. A 1960 Graduate of Oceana High School, he
served in the Army for 4 years before returning to Oceana, where he married Dorthina Woolwine.  Together they
had three children.  He was a retired electrician and a member of the United Mine workers of America, as well as
a skilled carpenter know for his beautifully-crafted furniture.   He was a Deacon at Oceana Freewill Baptist
Church and a beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. In addition to his loving wife, he is
preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Green.  He is survived by his daughter Kelli Samples of Albemarle,
North Carolina; son Todd Samples of Pikeville, Kentucky; daughter Rebecca Green and her companion, Brian
Ritchie of Gold Hill, North Carolina; grandchildren Jonathan, Kaitlyn, Zachary, Allie, Nick and  Abram; brothers
Donald Samples and his wife Audrey; Eddie Samples and his wife Brenda, Danny Samples, and Teddy Samples;
numerous nieces Kris, Lydia, Karrie, Kym, Katie, Sara and Anna; and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held

Donald Lee Lester, of Steeles Hollow, WV passed away on Thursday June 11, 2020 at his home. He was born on
March 13, 1940 in Hanover, WV a son of the late Woodrow Lorenza "Woody" and Lois Nichatie England Lester. In

Rev. Donald Lee White, 78, of Cyclone, WV went home to be with the Lord on Monday June 8, 2020 following a
short illness. He was born on February 3, 1942 in McComas, WV a son of the late Raymond Issac and Mary Francis
Rutledge White. Donald is a member and founder of the Gillman Bottom House of Prayer in 1988. In 1996 his best
friend Donald Sparks became the new Pastor. He was a Pastor and Evangelist for over 50 year with many souls
saved. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Lilly Keith White. Survivors include his
loving wife of 52 years Emma Brown White; two sons Donald Lee White, Jr. of Tampa, FL and Paul (Diana) White
of Burleson, TX; two sisters Lovette (Johnny) White Milton of Crown and Elva (Michael) White Roark of
Robinette; four brothers Raymond (Betty) White, Jr. of Cleveland, OH, Carl (Lois) White of Beckley, Tommy
(Pauline) White of Cyclone and Garrett (Mary) White of KY; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral

Dautphine Hurley Kennedy, 69, of Hanover, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday August 4, 2020 at
CAMC Memorial, Charleston, WV. She was born on June 27, 1951 in Welch, WV a daughter of the late Carolenius
Alonzo and Dena Stafford Hurley. Dautphine is a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church of Pineville. In
addition to her parents she is preceded in death by twin sons Paul and Christopher Kennedy; a sister Patricia Ann
Sasser; and two brothers Timothy and Doug Hurley. Survivors include her loving husband of 50 years Michael
Kennedy; a daughter Rhianon (Shane Bragg) Kennedy of Shady Spring; five sisters Wanda (Joey) Cooper of Skin
Fork, Jenny (Shana) Hurley of Clendinon, Leslie Hurley of Pineville, Jody Hurley of Princeton and Ellen Hurley of
Princeton; a brother Donnie (Vicky) Hurley of Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and

Douglas Walter Shelton, Sr., 76, of Oceana, WV passed away on Friday August 7, 2020 in Princeton Community
Hospital.  He was born on January 13, 1944 in Pineville, WV, a son of the late Coy Eugene and Sophia Ella Belcher
Shelton.  Douglas was a member of the Mill Creek Freewill Baptist Church and was a retired timber cutter.  In
addition to his parents he is preceded in death by son Douglas Walter "June Bug" Shelton, Jr.; step-daughter
Leann Richmond; son-in-law Toby Cox; two sisters Charlotte Holcomb and Helen Belcher; step-mother Opal
Shelton; and daughter-in-law Judy Shelton.  Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Pamela Gaye

Charles Malcolm Childers, Jr., 75, of Oceana, WV, passed away on Friday August 7, 2020 in Boone Memorial
Hospital.  He was born on April 20, 1945 in Kopperston, WV, a son of the late Charles Malcolm "Mack" and Elsie
Spriggs Childers.  Charles was a minister, a retired mine foreman and a US Army Veteran.  In addition to his
parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolyn Pennington Childers; a grandson Nathaniel Peyton
Childers; a brother Clarence "Bud" Childers; and a sister Mitzy Kellogg. Survivors include his sons Charles
Malcolm "Chuck" Childers, III and wife Donna of Oceana and Jimmy Childers and wife Kimberly of Thomasville,
NC; two sisters Alice Childers of Kopperston and Loretta Long of Montgomery; a brother Coy "Bo" Childers of
New York; seven grandchildren Tamara Leshay Childers, Jacob Malcolm Childers, Jace Repass, Lydia Childers,

Kimberly Christine Hatcher Harrison, 48, of Kopperston, WV passed away after a sudden illness on Friday August
7, 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV. She was born on October 29, 1971 in Beckley, the daughter
of Fred and June Christian Hatcher  She was a social studies teacher at Westside High School. She loved her
students and was loved by them. She graduated from Oceana High School and Concord College. She received
masters degrees in geography and history from Marshall University. She was a faithful member of Lillyhaven
Baptist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution and American Federation of Teachers. In addition to her
parents, survivors include her husband of 19 years, Kevin, daughters Erin Lea Harrison and Emily (Adam) Cozort,
and her Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Darrell and Mary Adams. Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on
Wednesday August 12th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Pastor Algie Cook
officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family

Herbert Lewis Ingram, 89, of Racine, WI, formerly of Oceana, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday
June 4, 2020 in  Burlington, WI. He was born on January 15, 1931 in Clintwood, VA a son of the late Corbin and
Cozy Clark Ingram. Herbert is a United States Korean Army Veteran and he worked at Virginia Concrete for over
40 years.  He is preceded in death by his loving wife Clara Mae Ingram; four brothers Andy, Earl, Carl and Junior;
and a sister Cora. Survivors include a daughter Michelle (J. D.) Tobler; a brother Paul (Othell) Ingram; four
grandchildren Zachary, Amanda, James and Tea; a sister-in-law Vivian Bailey; and a host of other loving family

Hospital, Huntington, WV. He was born on December 25, 1944 in Tipple, WV a son of the late Basil Brown and the
late Jessie Fay Tolliver Simmons. Roger is a United States Vietnam Army Veteran, a member of the UMWA and
attended the Ravencliff Church of the Living God. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother
Isaac Pat Brown; and step brother Bobby Simmons. Survivors include his wife of 47 years Rosetta Farmer Brown;
three daughters Cindy Nicole Brown of Maben, Kristen Brown of Ravencliff and Courtney Brown of Ravencliff;
two sons Roger Dale (Yolanda) Brown of MD and Nathiah Brown of Ravencliff; two aunts Darlene Swim and

Calista Nicole Crouch Trent., 42, of Crouch's Farm, WV passed away on Friday August 7th, 2020.  She was born on
November 04, 1977 in Beckley, WV, a daughter of Letha Ellison Crouch of Crouch's Farm and the late Robert D.
Crouch.  She was a 1996 Graduate of Oceana High School, a 2000 Graduate of Southern WV LPN school and had
completed her RN/BSN at Mountain State University in 2009. She was a beloved mother and daughter and will be
missed by her family and friends. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her sister, Desiree Crouch.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her daughters, Finley Crouch and Kylee Trent; her son, Dylan Trent;
and a host of other loving family and friends. She will be cremated and there will be no services. The family is

Jack Edward Cline, 84, of Clear Fork, WV, passed away on Wednesday August 12, 2020 due to injuries sustained
in an ATV accident. He was born on July 1, 1936 in Earling, WV a son of the late Alan P. and Sadie Morgan Cline.
He is a member of the NRA. Jack was known as a good man and was loved and respected. He was a hard
working man who looked out for his family. He was always on the go and there was no holding him back. He
loved fishing, hunting ginseng and just being out in nature. Jack was a man with a green thumb, he loved his
garden. He supplied his family and neighbors with a feast of home grown delight. He was a very giving soul,
always willing to lend a hand or a hand out- he never hesitated. If you needed a job, everyone knew to come see
Jack. He will always be loved, respected and remembered by all. In addition to his parents he is preceded in
death by two daughters Patsy Maynard and Phyllis Lee; three brothers Berlin, Wren and Daniel Cline; and a
sister Marie Toler. Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years Barbara Rowe Cline; two daughters Jacqueline
