Keeta Marie Sparks, 43, of Sophia, WV passed away on Thursday May 2, 2019 due to injuries from a vehicle
accident. She was born on July 25, 1975 in Columbus, OH a daughter of James Orville Adkins, Jr. of Clear
Fork and a late Cheryl Jane Oliver. She is preceded in death by her mother. In addition to her father
survivors include two daughters Paesley Stafford of Hinton and Haley Adkins of Sophia; a son Christian
Stafford of Daniels; a sister Cassie Williams of Columbus, OH; a brother James Adkins, III of Dixie; two
grandchildren Landon Bowling and Zoey Thompson; and a host of other loving family and friends. In
keeping with her wishes she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. The family

Addie Maxine Bishop, 83, of Pineville, WV went home to  be with the Lord on Friday May 3, 2019 at her
home. She was born on August 2, 1935 in Rose Branch, WV a daughter of the late Will and Ellen Lester.
Addie was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Rockview and the last surviving member of her
immediate family. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Elmer Bishop; a
grandson Shawn Gullett; two sisters Thelma and Austine; and four brothers Shirley, Ardie, Chester and
Herschel. Survivors include a daughter Belinda Bishop of Pineville and her friend Michael Laxton;
granddaughter Shannon (Cameron) Francisco, of Wilmington, NC; great granddaughters Charlie Dougall,
Emily Cook, Chasity Cook, Sara Cook, Molly Cook and Arianna Cook; special friend Brenda Ellis; and a host
of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 7PM on Sunday May 5th at the
Pentecostal Church of Rockview with Rev. Jason Perdue officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm
Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Matheny, WV on Monday at 11:00 AM. Friends may gather with the family

Appalachian Regional Hospital, Beckley, WV following a long illness. She was born on February 17, 1938 in
Glen Rogers, WV a daughter of the late Jack Griffith and Vida Browning Armstrong. She attended the
Bellemeade Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband

born on March 13, 1946 in Logan County, WV a son of the late Wayne Talbert and Opal Gaye Farmer
Simpson.  Roger was a loving Husband, Daddy and Pa-paw. He was a member of the  Guyandotte Baptist
Church, the UMWA, and a fire boss at Kopperston #2. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a
son Mark Simpson. Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years Glenda Grubb Simpson; a daughter Kelli

born on May 16, 1944 in Logan County, WV a son of the late Hobert and Gladys Belcher Toler, Jr. In
addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his soul mate of 37 years Louise Imogene Blackburn
Toler; two daughters Wendy and Mary Ann Toler; a son-in-law Kenneth Maynard; a granddaughter Amy

Eunice Dorthina Woolwine Samples, 73, of Oceana, WV received her heavenly reward on Thursday April 25,
2019 following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 11, 1946 to the late
Charles and Hazel Isabella (Linkous) Woolwine. Dorthina is a lifelong resident of Oceana and a 1964
graduate of Oceana High School. She is a member of the Oceana Freewill Baptist Church. She had been
employed for many years as a cook by Wyoming County Board of Education. In addition to her parents she
is preceded in death by a grandson Mathew Ryan Green; two sisters Lois Graham and  Ruby Woolwine; and
a brother Joe Woolwine. Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years Ronald Samples; her children
Kelli Samples of NC, Todd Samples of Pikeville, KY and Rebecca (Brian Ritchie) Green of NC; her
grandchildren whom she treasured Jonathan, Katelyn and Zachary Green of NC and Allie, Nicholas and

Mullens, WV a son of the late Virgil Ray and Norma Blondine Blankenship Shepherd. Lany is a 1987

Ona Lyn Cline, 70, of Hanover, WV passed away on Friday April 19, 2019 in the Veterans Hospital in
Washington D.C. He was born on October 18, 1948 in Hanover, WV where he resided his entire life. The son
of the late Vernon and Irene Riffe Cline. Ona was a professional truck driver by trade. He was known by
many for his good cheer and great personality toward others. He is a United States Navy Vietnam Veteran
and a 1967 graduate of Baileysville High School.  In addition  to his parents he is preceded in death by a
brother Carl Cline. Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years Shirley Blankenship Cline; a son Darrell Lee
(Angie) Cline of Cool Ridge; two grandsons Jarrod (Jackie) Cline of Cool Ridge and Jeffrey (Kelsey) Cline of
Coal City; two great grandchildren, who were the love of his life, Raelyn and Parker Cline of Cool Ridge;

Betty Lou Kenneda, 69, of Simon WV, went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Monday April 8th,
2019. Born September 1st, 1949 she is the daughter of the late Franklin and Bertha Cline Toler. Betty leaves
behind a great multitude of family and friends, whom she loved deeply. To know Betty was to love her. She
was a wonderful and caring woman who will be missed by all who knew her. Those waiting to greet her on
the other side are her parents; two brothers Jackie Lee (Drema Kay) Toler, and Dennis Ray Toler; a sister
Gayvon Walls; granddaughter Lakie Renee Jackson; and grandson Kyle Ray Kenneda. Those left behind to

Ethel Stewart Profitt, 83, of Statesville, NC formerly of Matheny, WV went home to be with our Lord May
30, 2019 surrounded by her family. Born May 26, 1936 in Jesse, WV, she was the eldest daughter of the late
Ira Paris Stewart and Mable Walker Stewart. Ethel was a member of the Gospel Life Quartet for 10+ years,
she enjoyed her travels with the Quartet and loved each member of the group. These were the best years of
her life. She was an associate member of the UMWA, elected Homemaker of the year by the Matheny
Homemakers Club, past member of the Rebeckah Lodge, a member of the Matheny United Methodist
Church, and the WSCS of the church. She loved decorating her house and making ceramics. Her biggest
desire in life was to help people in various ways. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by
her husband Claude L. Profitt; brothers Truman Walker and David Ray Stewart; sisters Naomi Stewart
Dishmon  and Bonnie Stewart Patrick.  Those left to cherish her memory are daughter Eva Kiser and
husband Kermit; granddaughter Amy Toler and husband Kevin all of Statesville, NC; great granddaughter

Tommy Cline, 90, of Oceana, WV departed this life on Saturday June 1, 2019 at McDowell Nursing &
Rehabilitation Center in Gary, WV.  He was the son of the late Chip P. and Viola Cline.  He was born on
September 9, 1928 at Lorado, WV in Logan County.  He served in the U.S. Army  for two years.  He was a
member of the UMWA Local Union 1503.  He began his work for Eastern Peabody in 1970. He attended the
Bible Baptist Church. Tommy was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Gertie Faye Cline;  brothers  
Charles Daniel “James” Cline, and Stanley Paul Cline, Ralph Cline; sister Maggie Cline;  son James “Chico”
Osborne;  two Grandchildren  Brett N. Gibson and Brianna J. Gibson Pizzino; and.  special cousins Robert

Tony Delane "T-Bone" Toler, 52, of Oceana, WV went home to be with the Lord on Monday April 8, 2019.
He was born on March 3, 1967 in Mullens, WV a son of Roger Toler of Oceana and the late Linda Cline Toler.
T-Bone is a 1985 graduate of Oceana High School. He is a disabled coal truck operator and owned KAT
Enterprises and Iron Horse Transport.  In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by his

son of the late George and Pearl Cline Hughes. He married his love, Betty Cline Hughes on April 30, 1949. In

he worked for the Wyoming County Board of Education as custodian at Pineville Elementary School and

Community Hospital, Princeton, WV. She was born on June 2, 1939 in Fanrock, WV a daughter of the late
Kelsey and Ruby Morgan England. Yvonne is a member of the Allen Junction Church of God and the last
surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving

Phyllis Ann Steele, 70, of Peterstown, WV passed away peacefully on June 23, 2019 in Lewisburg, WV.
Phyllis was born on September 25, 1948 in Panther, WV a daughter of the late Bob and Maggie Cline.
Throughout her wonderful life she met Ronnie L. Steele, her husband and one true love of 53 years,
together they lived of the Jesus faith and raised five children. Mrs. Steele enjoyed attending church with
her husband and pastor Mr. Steele, son Danny Steele, and family. Cooking huge meals for her family and
always giving out seconds, and playing along with her grandkids. Phyllis was loved by many including,
sister in-laws, brother in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents she is
preceded in death by three sisters Jean Sawin, Doris Pierce and Florine Cline. Survivors include her husband

Jack "Jackie" Lee Collins, 61, of Brenton, WV, departed this life for his heavenly home July 11, 2019 at St.
Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, WV. He was born on February 5, 1958 in Pineville, WV a son of the late
Jack and Dollie Jean Blankenship Collins. He is a 1976 graduate of Baileysville High School. In addition to
his parents he is preceded in death by a special aunt Linda Blankenship. Survivors include three sisters Sue
Collins and Deb Collins of Brenton who were his caregivers and Eva (Michael) Edwards Leonard of Big
Stone Gap, VA; special uncle and aunt Hobert (Retha) Blankeship of Clear Fork; uncles  Jay (Bridgett)
Blankenship of Simon, Allen (Betty) Blankenship of Clear Fork, Jonathan "Nub" (Lois) Blankenship of
Oceana, Lonnie (Donna) Blankenship of Saulsville and Firg Proffitt of Oceana; two nephews Dylan Bailey
and Gregory Mitchell; two nieces Kaley Bailey and Demi Leonard; his dog Tuttor; special friends David
Workman, Kenny Dixon and William Perry; special neighbors Greg and Eunice Mitchell; and a host of other
loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Monday July 15th in the Chapel of

Willis "Harold" Hill, 87, of Glen Fork, WV, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2019 at his home. He was born
on April 23, 1932 in Glen Morrison, WV a son of the late Lanta and Bonnie Walker Hill. He was a 1951
graduate of Glen Rogers High School. After serving three years in the United States Army, he attended the
Wyoming County Trade School and received a degree in welding. He began his career as a coal miner at
Red Jacket in Lynco, continued to Consol Coal Company in Itmann, then to Ranger Fuel in Bolt. He retired
at Ranger Fuel in Sabine. He was a long time active member of the United Mine Workers of America,
holding various leadership positions such as Chairman of the Mine Safety Committee, President of Local
Union 2333 and Vice-President of Local Union 1391. In these roles he helped organize union mines,
lobbied for mine safety laws, amended contracts and attended many international and district
conventions. In the summer Harold loved to garden, as he spent many hours outdoors. In addition to his
parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Lori Lea, a brother Ray and his brother-in-law Jack
Walker. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 62 years Bertha Gibson Hill, his son
Anthony "Tony" Hill of Athens, GA and his daughter Tamela "Tammy" Hill McCurdy and husband Bill of
Pineville; grandchildren include Kenny Hill and Lori of Oak Island, NC, Matthew Hill of Charlotte, NC,
Kelsey Bailey Cook and husband Clay of Pineville, and Jessica Hill Stewart of Royston, GA; great
grandchildren Karley and Colin Hill, Shiloh and Annistyn Hill, and Weston Stewart; a sister Athelene
Walker of Glen Fork, an uncle Joe Hill of Mullens; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving
family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Thursday July 18th in the Chapel of Stafford
Family Funeral Home, Lynco with Pastor Johnny Jones and Rev. Randall Topping officiating. He will be
laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. The Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard will
conduct Military Rites. Friends may gather with the family from 11:30AM until time of services on

Charles Edward "Ed" Blevins, 89, of Turkey Creek, WV passed away on Friday, July 19, 2019 at Bowers
Hospice House, Beckley, WV.  He was born June 6, 1930 at Glen Fork, WV, a son of the late Thomas
Manuel and Wilma Atkins Blevins.  He served in the U.S. Army  for two years.  Survivors include his loving
wife of 66 years Hattie Marie Browning Blevins; seven children Charles Eugene Blevins, Edward Lee
Blevins, Freda Ann Bailey, Larry Wayne Blevins, Janet Marie Lester, Manual Keith Blevins and Ryan Kevin
Blevins; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends.   
Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday July 23 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home,
Lynco, WV. He will be laid to rest in Blevins Family Cemetery, Turkey Creek, WV. Friends may gather with
the family from 1:00 PM until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. The family is being served
