Connie Jeanette Laxton, 59, of Glen Fork, WV passed away Wednesday February 7, 2018 at Ruby Memorial
Hospital, Morgantown, WV. She was born on November 13, 1958 in Beckley, WV a daughter of Eunice
Daphine Day Acord of Glen Fork and the late Hiram Acord. Jeanette was a member of the Bellemeade
Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her father she is preceded in death by a brother-in-law Ronnie
Lafferty; and an uncle Verner Day. In addition to her mother survivors include four sons Mike (Christy)
Laxton, Matthew (Dana) Laxton, Thomas Laxton and David (Leeann) Laxton; a sister Carol Anne Lafferty;
twelve grandchildren Brent and Madden Atwood, Luke, Andrea, Sydney, Nathan  Sophie, Hannah, Abigail,
Alexis and Isabella Laxton, and Landon Stewart; three nephews Chris Brooks, Alan Brooks and Stephen
Brooks; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2PM on Saturday
February 10th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Nathan Vance
officiating. She will be laid to rest in Glen Fork Community Cemetery, Glen Fork, WV. Friends may gather
with the family from Noon until time of services on Saturday February 10th at the funeral home.

David K. Mayberry, 90, exchanged his earthly home in Kopperston, WV to his Heavenly home on Thursday
February 1, 2018. He was the son of the late Christopher K. and Zola Matney Mayberry. David had
suffered a heart-attack followed by a stroke from which he could not recover. He was lovingly attended
by his wife Joy Reed Mayberry and his elder daughter Marina. Survivors also include a daughter Denise
(Scott) Spills of Titusville, FL; a granddaughter; three great grandchildren; and two great great
grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends. David was a multi faceted person who
worked in jobs from mining at Kopperston to the Space Industry in Florida, where he worked on the
Apollo and shuttle programs until his retirement. He then returned to West Virginia the state he dearly
loved. A celebration of David's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday February 11, 2018 at the Delilah
United Methodist Church, Oceana, WV. with Rev. Ron Acord and Rev. Jerry Cook officiating. Friends may
gather with the family from 1:00 PM until time of services on Sunday. In lieu of flowers donations can be
made to Delilah Methodist Church, Oceana or Hospice of Southern WV, Beckley. Special gratitude to the
people of Hospice and Landon Blankenship from the VA who helped us through a difficult time.  
Louis James Velos, 60, of Sophia, WV passed away Saturday February 10, 2018 at his home. He was born on
April 9, 1957 in Chicago, IL a son of the late Thomas James Velos and Nancy Lee Johnson Havert. In addition
to his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters Darlene Blankenship and Tammy Maynard; a niece Hope
Blankenship; and a nephew Thomas Chad Maynard. Survivors include his step father Chuck Havert of  
Fairdale; a sister Trina Dawn Cline of Fairdale; nieces and nephews Clifford Blankenship, James Maynard,
Taylor Cline, Dylan Blankenship, Mersadies Blankenship, Tammy Maynard and Bentley Cline; and a host of
other loving family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 8:00 PM on Thursday February 22, 2018
at the St. Stephens Episcopal Church, Beckley, WV. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral

Robert Samuel McGuire, 67, of Montcalm, WV passed away Friday February 16, 2018 at his home following a
courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 1, 1950 in Pineville, WV a son of the Mona Ruth
Francis McGuire of New Richmond and the late Robert Samuel McGuire. Robert is a United States Marine
Corp Veteran who served proudly in the Vietnam war with the 3rd Recon. He is preceded in death by his
father and first wife Carol Joyce McGuire. In addition to his mother survivors include his wife Virginia
McGuire; two sons Hunter McGuire of Montcalm and Bobby McGuire  of Columbia, MO; two daughters
Angela McGuire and Carolyn (Dale) Wilson all of Auxvasse, MO; a sister Gloria (Eppie) Cline of Oceana; a
brother Jack (Pat) McGuire of Glen Fork; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; special friend and
brother Steve Shircliff of FL whom is the last surviving member of the USMC 3rd Recon Team; and a host of
other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday February 18th in the
officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Glen Fork Community Cemetery, Glen Fork, WV. Friends may gather

Wayne Oliver Stewart, 78, of Simon, WV passed away Friday February 16, 2018 at Raleigh General Hospital,
Beckley, WV. He was born on November 11, 1939 in Pineville, KY a son of the late Obed and Viola Deloris
Allen Stewart. Wayne is a member of the UMWA. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by  his
wife Linda May Toler Stewart; and a sister Betty Sue Graves. Survivors include a daughter Judith (Tony)
Lester of Buffalo; a son Wayne (Sonja) Stuart of Sunhill; four brothers Thomas Earl (Amy) Stewart of San
Antonio, TX, Charles Lee (Retha) Stewart of Lynco, Roland Jerome Stewart of Maryville, VA and David
(Pattty) Allen Stewart of Maryville, VA; five grandchildren Shanna Snyder, Kayla Stuart, Gabrielle Stuart,
Emma Lester and Allie Lester; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at

Josephine Proffitt Preece, 65, of Oceana, WV passed away Saturday February 17, 2018 at Beckley
Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was born on February 22, 1952 in Simon, WV a daughter of Firg
Anderson Proffitt of Oceana and the late Louise Cline Proffitt. In addition to her mother she is preceded in
death by her step mother Rose Proffitt. In addition to her father survivors include her loving husband
Clifford Allen Preece; a son Timothy Allen Preece of Matoaca, VA; a daughter Tammy (Charles) Cook of
Clintonville, WV; four sisters Dianna (Powell) Morgan, Pauline (Alvin) Kennedy, Lawona Preece, and Patty
(Larry) Morgan; a brother Ricky (Brenda) Proffitt; five grandchildren John Cook, Laura Akers, Timothy
Preece, Jr., Elaina Preece and Sarah Preece; on great grandchild Logan Reed; and a host of other loving

Betty Jo Goodwin, 69, of Oceana, WV made her journey to her Heavenly Home on Sunday February 18, 2018
at Harper Mills, Beckley, WV. She was born on April 20,1948 in Oceana, WV a daughter of the late Robert
Lee and Myrtle L. Hager Acord. She was a resident at Harper Mills Nursing Home and Skilled Care Facility in
Beckley, WV and a lifetime resident of Oceana, WV. She loved to cook, sometimes for days for family
reunions, holidays and church functions. She enjoyed sharing family recipes as well. Betty Jo loved her
family and they all enjoyed RV'ing from Niagara Falls, Canada to the Florida Keys and all the places in
between. She loved site seeing, cruising the lake in their pontoon, fishing and camping. Betty Jo was a
long-time member of Joseph Baptist Church, in Lynco, WV. She was a former member of Daughters of the
American Revolution, John Cooke Chapter of Oceana, WV. Preceding her in death in 2017, in addition to her
parents, her husband of 52 years, Joseph Albert Goodwin, Sr.; and two sisters Nancy Acord Paynter &
Myrna Acord Walker. Surviving her, sons Terry Joe Goodwin of Huntington, WV, Sidney Carl Goodwin of
North Carolina & Mitchell Shane Goodwin of Beaver, WV; grandsons Garrett Goodwin of Kopperston, WV
and Kristjan Goodwin of Oceana, WV; granddaughter Haley Goodwin of Oceana, WV;  sisters Sylvia Acord

Nanna Mae Stewart, 70, of Baileysville, WV became safe in the arms of Jesus at 10:40 AM on February 19,
2018 at her home. She was born on March 3, 1947 in Hanover, WV, a daughter of the late Lacy and Martha
Elizabeth Bailey Bishop. She was a loving homemaker and church secretary/treasurer. She was a member
the Independent Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church of Mullensville for 36 years. She loved singing gospel
hymns, cooking, having wiener roasts, spending time with friends and family and collecting "Pretty"
umbrellas. Last but not least, she loved being a grandmother. She was very proud of having worked at the
Giget Drive Inn. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by six brothers Lacy Bishop, Jr., Edward
"Ed" Bishop, Ollie Lee Bishop, Alex "Pedro" Cline and infants Okey and Roy Rondall Bishop; two sisters
Lacine Lester and Georgia Belcher; her step mother Marie Bishop; and two brothers-in-law Jason Lester
and Herbert Lester. Survivors include her loving husband of 47 years Billy C. Stewart; a son Charles Allen
Stewart  and wife Dana of Baileysville; two daughters Marsha England and Bobby of Baileysville and Tina
Lockhart and husband Richard of Gastonia, NC;  two grandchildren Ashley Breann Stewart and Bentley
Ross England; five sisters Emogene Lester of Gilbert Creek, Katherine (Raymond) Bowles of Williamsburg,

Janice Marie Toler Richard, 83, of Kopperston, WV passed away on Monday February 19, 2018 at Bowers
Hospice House, Beckley, WV. She was born on March 29, 1934 in Amherstdale, WV a daughter of the late
Andrew William  and Flossie Bias Toler. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband
Herman John Richard.; two daughters Donna Farley and Christine Jonsson; and two sons John Richard, Jr.
and James Richard. Survivors include two daughters Teresa Canterbury of Kopperston and Linda King of
Valley Center, KS; two sisters Kathalene Toler of Bolt and Lorraine  Whittington of Martinsville, VA; a
brother James Toler; and a host of other loving family and friends. In keeping with her wishes she will be
cremated and will be laid to rest in Kopperston Community Cemetery.  The family is being served by the

Kevin Paul Altizer, Sr., 42, of Gilbert, WV passed away on Monday February 26, 2018 at his home. He was
born on April 22, 1975 in Man, WV a son of Linda Lou Cresong Altizer of Gilbert and the late Diamond L.
Altizer, Jr. In addition to his father he is preceded in death by a brother Dickie Lee Altizer; and his
grandparents Nora and Girvis Cresong and Diamond and Edith Altizer, Sr. In addition to his mother
survivors include a daughter Emily Jordan of Beckley; a son Kevin Paul Altizer, Jr. of Beckley; a brother
Richard Altizer of Gilbert; two nieces Cambrie and Camila Altizer; a nephew Ryan Altizer; and a host of other

Edna Mae Bailey Francis, 82, of Glen Fork, WV passed away on Tuesday February 27, 2018 following a long
difficult journey at the Wyoming County Continuous Care Center. She was born on April 26, 1935 in Glen
Fork, WV a daughter of the late Goldie and Crockett Bailey. During Edna's journey at the nursing home she
was constantly proclaiming her faith and the love of Christ, and she never failed to rejoice in the in the
knowledge that she would be walking those streets of gold in heaven. Once again to be reunited with her
son Freddie Dean Francis and several deceased brothers and sisters. She leaves behind her loving and
devoted husband of 67 years Roy Francis; children Deborah  (Richard) Davidson, Ernest "Ernie"  (Kitty)
Francis, Ricky (Leoda) Francis, Patricia (Ron) Harvey, Les (Marie) Francis and Anna (Donald) Jude; eleven
grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; four sister; two brothers; several sisters-in-law, nieces,
nephews and loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Friday March 2nd  in the

Oceana, WV passed away on Wednesday February 28, 2018 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV. He was
born on April 24, 1971 in Man, WV a son of the late Carroll and Ella Jean Pearl Lusk. In addition to his
parents he is preceded in death by his father Carlton Shields; grandparents Newson and Mabel Shields and
Arvil Kester "Boots" and Eddie Pearl Lusk.   Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years Anita Kay Morgan
Lusk; two daughters April (Justin) Halsey of Kopperston and Kortni (Devin) Ratliff of Navarre, FL; two
brothers Carroll (Ruby) Lusk of Cyclone and Wendy (Debbie) Lusk of Stokesdale, NC; five grandchildren
Jacob Day, Callista Halsey, Jasmyn Day, Arabella Day, Easton Ratliff and one due in September 2018; and a

Barbara Ann Chambers, 61, of Pineville, WV passed away on Saturday March 3, 2018 at her home following
a long illness. She was born on November 13, 1956 in Mullens,  WV a daughter of the late Dewey Corbin
Chambers and Audrey D. Baldwin Clay.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by three sisters
Naomi Jasper, Mary Wimmer and Eleanor Stafford. Survivors include her fiancé Jerry Keith "Shaky"
Shumate of Pineville; a daughter Melissa Holstein of OH; two sons Patrick (Jolene) Holstein of Lynco and
Jason Holstein of Oceana; two sisters Millie (Glen) Williams of Lynco and Clarisse Clay of Lynco; two
brothers Terry "Bo" Chambers and companion Lula of Lynco and Timmy (Linda) Clay of Lynco; special
friends Joe and Rachael Green of Pineville; niece and caretaker Audrey Belcher; and a host of other loving

Alice Fern Hatfield, 76, of Texarkana, TX grew her wings peacefully at Christus St. Michael Hospital on
Tuesday March 6, 2018. She was born on October 21, 1941 in Fanrock, WV a daughter of the late William
and Asia England Lambert. Survivors include her husband Hershel Hatfield; two sons Marty (Kimberly)
Hatfield and  Eddie Hatfield; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; siblings Daniel Lambert, Eddie
Lambert and Betty Reed. Funeral services will be held at 1PM Tuesday March 13th in the Chapel of Stafford

Hellen L. Cook, 81, of Oceana, WV passed away on Sunday February 25, 2018 in Broward Medical Center in
Florida after a short illness. Hellen was born September 3, 1936 in Braeholm, WV to the late Charley and
Ruth Farris. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles W. Cook; brother Homer Farris ; and sister
Christine Farris. Hellen was a 1954 graduate of Man High School. She worked most of her adult life at Cohen
Drug at Man, Island Creek Dept. Store at Accoville, and manager of the Justonian Motel at Justice until she
retired. She was a member of the Oceana United Methodist Church, Oceana Women's Club and the DAR. She
also served on the Oceana City Council. Hellen is survived by her daughter Julie (Charlie) Stephenson of
Coral Springs, FL; her son Perry (Patti) Cook of Oceana; three grandsons Nick (Ashley) Cook of Oceana, Ben
(Sunny) Cook of Mooresville, NC and Brock Stephenson of Coral Springs, FL; a great granddaughter Lindsey
Cook; a great grandson Hudson Cook; four sisters Mary Jean Chambers of St. Pete, FL, Thelma (George)
Hosea of Conroe, TX, Peggy Stepp of Dayton, OH and Susan (Dale) Duncan of New Lebanon, OH along with
a host of nieces and nephews. As per her wishes, Hellen was cremated. There will be a celebration of  
Hellen's life at 1PM on Saturday March 17th at the Oceana United Methodist Church, Oceana, WV. Friends

Myrtle Bell Bailey, 44, of Panther, WV passed away on Monday March 12, 2018 at CAMC Memorial,
Charleston, WV. She was born on September 15, 1973 in Welch, WV a daughter of the late James and Ruby
Browning Adkins. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a daughter Donna Anderson; two
sisters Cathy Browning and Linda Meadows; and a brother Terry Adams. Survivors include her loving
husband of 17 years Eddy Merl Bailey; a daughter Dolly (Teddy) Bishop of Gary; four sons Shawn Bailey of
Alabama, Donald Bailey of Moundsville, Eddie Bailey of the home and Cody Vanover of Litwar; two sisters
Sherry (Felix) Steele and Tina Lester all of Short Pole; three brothers Nick (Sue) Adams of Brenton, Junior

Ernest Ervin Blankenship, 84, of Clear Fork, WV passed away on Wednesday March 14, 2018 at Select
Specialty Hospital, Charleston, WV. He was born on June 18, 1933 in Isaban, WV a son of the late Ora Virgil
and Velvie Griffin Blankenship. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter Debbie
Blankenship; a step son Edward Toler; and a sister Thelma Latrell. Survivors include his wife of 29 years
Lougetta Morgan Blankenship; and a host of other family and friends.  Funeral services will be held at 2PM

Bonnie Kaye Watts Sammons, 57, of Pineville, WV passed away on Wednesday March 14, 2018 at her
home.  She was born on July 18, 1960 in Luling, TX a daughter of Morgan Lee and Bonnie Faye Watts of
Lufkin, TX. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Levi and Addie Watts and Wiley and Lavada
Wimberley; and father-in-law Wesley Sammons. Survivors include her loving husband of 30 years Larry
Sammons; a son Nathan Y'Barbo of Lufkin, TX; a daughter Tammy Sammons Mullens; six grandchildren

Gary Wilson Brooks, 70, of Mullens, WV passed away on Saturday March 17, 2018 at CAMC General
Hospital.  He was born on October 21, 1947 in Glen Fork, WV a son of the late James Jennings and Roberta
Bailey Brooks. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers Rodney and James Brooks.
Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years Debra Kay Redden Brooks;  two daughters Dealia "Dee"
(James, Jr.) Bragg of Cyclone and April Brooks of Beckley; a son Patrick Brooks of Mullens; a sister Sandra

Bobby Lee Cline, 80, of Clear Fork, WV passed away on Monday March 19, 2018 at his home.  He was born
on May 21, 1937 in Hico, WV a son of the late Fred Harrison and Ethel Irene Camp Cline. Bobby is a United
Sates Army Veteran. He attended the Fellowship Tabernacle in Christiansburg, Truth Assembly in Glen Fork
and the Spoken Word in Beckley. He worked on GMO Railroad in Illinois, owned a grocery store, Shoe City
in Oceana and Cline's Paving. He was one of the founders of the Oceana Midget and PeeWee Football
League in the 1970's. Bobby was a boxer, he fought hundreds of amateur fights, he won over 130
professional fights while only losing one fight. He retired as WV Welter Weight Champion. He also coached
many area fighters. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son Tony Cline; a granddaughter
Sara Cline; two sisters Janet Johnson and Marylee Fournier; and a foster daughter Nancy Whitfield.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years Yvonne Hughes Cline; two daughters Faith (Kevin) Morgan and
Hope (Jeremy) Pettry all of Sunhill; a foster daughter Sandra Carver; two sons Freddie "Joey" Cline and
Eddie Cline both of Sunhill; a special friend who was like a son Curtis (Cheryl) Browning; a special friend
like a daughter Tina (Mark) Rogers; a brother Jerry Harrison (Juanita) Cline of Waynesboro, VA; eleven
grandchildren Amber (Travis) Brunty, Paige (Jeffery) Dishmon, Jocie Cline, Caitlin Cline, Savanah Adkins,
Cassidy Cline, Hailey Morgan, Destiny Morgan, Felicity Pettry, Andrew Adkins and Austin Cline; two great
grandchildren Joseph Blake and Kimberly Renee' Dishmon; six foster grandchildren Micah, Samuel, Josh
and Charity Carver, and Jocline and Lance Browning; and many many friends, neighbors and beloved church

Darlene Hatfield, 58, of Bluefield, WV passed away on Tuesday March 20, 2018 at Bluefield Regional
Hospital, Bluefield, WV.  She was born on August 3, 1959 in Welch, WV a daughter of Gloria Ann Stanley
Powell  of Bluefield and the late John Hobert Cole. Survivors include her husband  of 41 years Danny
Edward Hatfield; two daughters Tawnya Hatfield and companion Matthew Williams of Bluefield and
Tiffany (Mike) Smith of Jacksonville, NC; two sisters Drema Fowler of Bluefield and Melinda Climaco of IN;

Lula Ann "Dood" Brown, 83, of Oceana, WV passed away on Tuesday March 20, 2018 at Logan Regional
Medical Center, Logan, WV following a short illness.  She was born on June 24, 1934 in Cyclone, WV a
daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Lillie Mae Daniels Brown. Lula is a member of the Lacoma Baptist
Church. She is the last surviving member of 18 children and a 1953 graduate of Oceana High School. A
celebration of her life will be held at 2PM on Saturday April 7, 2018 at the Gilman Bottom House of Prayer,

Cody Austin Stewart, 29, of Matheny, WV passed away on Thursday March 22, 2018 at his home after a
battle with cancer.  He was born on October 6, 1988 in Welch, WV a son of Donny Eugene Stewart of

Powell Edward Cooke, Sr., 85, of Pineville, WV passed away on Thursday March 22, 2018 at Bowers
Hospice House, Beckley, WV.  He was born on January 4, 1933 in Jesse, WV a son of the late Harry Greene
and Blanche Stewart Cooke, Sr. Powell is a United States Army Veteran, a member of the UMWA Local
1503 and the Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by
two sisters Mary Lee Weaver and Emmy Vandev; and a brother Jennings Cooke. Survivors include his

Margore "Margie" Marie Maynard Spratt, 80, of Kopperston, WV passed away unexpectedly on March 22,
2018 in Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. She was born on January 17, 1938 in Warfield, KY a
daughter of the late Russell and Ollie Maynard. Margie was a beloved Mother, Sister and "Nanny" to her

Gail Lynn "Nut" Cline Allen, 67, of Oceana, WV left her earthly body surrounded by her loving family on
Saturday March 24, 2018 at CAMC General Hospital, Charleston, WV. Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon
the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be
weary, and they shall walk and not faint  She was born on December 12, 1950 in Simon, WV a daughter of
the late Mack and Edna Blankenship Cline. She was of the Apostolic faith and a member of the Full Gospel
Tabernacle where she proudly served as Armor bearer to Pastor Delana Daniels and mother of the church.
She loved going to church, spending time with her family, being outdoors, planting flowers especially
roses, sitting on her porch swinging and walking in the evenings with her best friend, Debbie Tate. In
addition to her parents she is preceded in death a brother Larry M. Cline. She is survived by her husband of
46 years Dennis Allen; two daughters Shavonda (Jerry) Owens of Oceana and Kimberly (Michelle) Allen of
Beckley; two sons Dennis Wayne Allen and Hunter Owens both of the home; five grandchildren, all whom
she loved so much Courtney England, James Williams, Ashley Williams, Mackinzie Gail Owens and Karleigh

Helen Delane Martin Spence, 68, of Cyclone, WV passed away on March 30, 2018 at McDowell Nursing and
Rehab, Gary, WV. She was born on January 14, 1950 in Cyclone, WV a daughter of the late Rubert Lee and
Berta Maxine Brown Martin. For the past few years of Helens stay she sang at the services at the nursing
home. She had weekly visits from Jada, Charlie and Melba and visits from Denise and David, she enjoyed
time with family and friends. She enjoyed the yearly trip to the Labor Day Celebration. She enjoyed her
activities and Bingo. Helen will be loved and missed. Her statement to those she loved was always love you
morether.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers Grady Martin and Allen

Robert Dale “Buddy” Addison, 28, of Coal Mountain, WV passed away on March 30th, 2018 at his
residence. He was born July 8th 1989 a son of Elizabeth Davis of Coal Mountain and the late Hansal Dale
Morgan. Buddy was a sweet and gentle soul, he was the best friend you could ever ask for and would go
out of his way to help anyone. He will truly be missed by all his loving family and friends. In addition to his

Rose Ann Reece, 54, of Pineville, WV formerly of Mullens passed away on Tuesday April 10, 2018 at Bowers
Hospice House, Beckley, WV. She was born on July 14, 1963 in Mullens, WV a daughter of Rita Mae
Blankenship Edens of Pineville and the late Jack Edward Hicks. Rose is a 1983 graduate of Mullens High
School. She worked several years at Thomas Snack Shop in Mullens with her life-long special friend, Lisa
"Mouse" Thompson Farley as well as the Wyoming County Council on Aging at Itmann. In addition to her
father she is preceded in death by her first husband Mark Reece; maternal grandparents Henry and Ennis
Blankenship; and paternal grandparents Clarence and Maggie Hicks. Survivors include a son Jeffery Lee
Reece of Beckley; a sister Bottsie Hicks of Pineville; three brothers Timothy (Rose "Chubby") Hicks of

Dale was is a United States Marines, Navy and Air Force Veteran and a 1984 graduate of Oceana High

Lola Jean Graham Lambert. Havanna was a member of the Matheny Church of God. In addition to her

Edsel Eugene Tolliver, 74, of Indian Creek, WV passed away on Saturday April 14, 2018 at Princeton
Community Hospital, Princeton, WV. He was born on May 12, 1943 in Wolfe Pen, WV a son of the late
Enoch Johnson and Mary Lee Faw Tolliver. He was a member of the UMWA and last worked at the US Steel
Prep Plant. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 35 years Barbara Simpson
Tolliver; and a brother Kenneth Tolliver. Survivors include two daughters Angela Roberts of Fanrock of

Hobert Cline, 69, of Simon, WV went to be with the Lord on Wednesday April 17, 2018 at Pikeville Medical
Center, Pikeville, KY. He was born on August 3, 1948 in Simon, WV a son of the late Omar and Dorthy Cline.  
Hobert was a loving father, grandfather, father-in-law, great grandfather, son brother and friend. He is a
United States Army Veteran and attended the Apostolic House of Faith. His loving smile and gentle heart
will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by

dearly Joshua (Jennifer) Walker, Jeffrey (Alexandra) Brown, Latosha, Caleb, Delwood, Harley and Skylar; a

Todd Kenneda, Bro. Barry Brooks, Bro. Tommy White and Bro. Robert Hunt officiating. He will be laid to
rest in Kennedy Cemetery, Foundation Fork, WV. The Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct

Pauline Adkins, 76, of Oceana, WV passed away on Wednesday April 18, 2018 at her home. She was born on
October 6, 1941 in Freeburn, KY a daughter of the late Robert Grayson and Nora Pearl Ward. In addition to
her parents she is preceded in death by a son Jerry Randal "Randy" Vance. Survivors include three daughters
Betty (Dale) Osborne, Barbara Caldwell and companion Robert Shumate and Tina (Steve) Massey all of
Oceana; a son Virgil Adkins, III of FL; two brothers Bob (Carol) Ward of Beckley and Roger Ward of Pineville;
seven grandchildren Cassie Hall, Wesley (Brianna) Finney, Carlton Abram, Ieshia (Walter) Wright, Dezari
(Franklin) Perdue, Stephanie (Jamie) Vanover and Kaitlyn Adkins; and a host of other loving family and
friends. Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Monday April 23rd in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral
Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Ernest Francis officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens,

Betty Lou Sizemore McMillion, 68, of Glen Fork, WV passed away on Thursday April 19, 2018 at her home.
She was born on July 18, 1949 in Kopperston, WV a daughter of the late Hearley and Vernie Toler Sizemore.
Betty attended the Promise Land Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her
husband Henry Porter Harmon; her husband Don Ed McMillion; a sister Harriett Doss; a brother Hearley
Gale Sizemore; a nephew Darrell "DJ" Doss, Jr.; and two brothers-in-law Kenneth Blackburn and Darrell
Allen Doss.  Survivors include a son Jason (Amanda) Harmon of Beckley; a sister Rebecca Blackburn of
Kopperston; a brother Roy Dean (Anita) Sizemore of Kopperston; three grandchildren Hattie Marie, Molly
Katherine and Emily June; a special nephew William McMillion; special friends Wanda and Eddie Carter; and
