born on July 23, 1935 in Naoma, WV a daughter of the late Alba Merile  and Nell Grace Dickens Hendricks.
She grew up in a large, loving family with five sisters and four brothers. Betty was of Baptist faith and a
Caregiver by profession. October 8, 1959 Betty married the love of her life, Randall...Joe Randall Walker.
From that day forward, she became a proud Army wife, and their life was blessed with years of adventure.
Military life enabled them to travel and experience many places over those years - both here in the states
and in Europe, raising three daughters along the way. Yet, the greatest joy in her life was always her family.
She was very proud of her West Virginia roots. One of her best memories as a child was standing on a
grassy knoll under the moonlight listening to the sound of an old coal train whistle echoing through the
mountains. One of her best memories as an adult was the birth of all her babies, grandchildren included.
She was so extremely proud of her grandsons. All five of her young men. She loved them dearly. Her
beautiful smile, advice, stubbornness and loving warm hugs will be greatly missed. Betty Lou has been
reunited with her mom and dad; her husband Randall; her two brothers Eugene N. Hendricks, William J.
"Joe" Hendricks; her sister Dallas Augusta Maynard; and many loved ones, family and friends, before her.
Those left to celebrate her life are her daughters Aleta Stephen and her husband Robert of Pittsburgh, Pa,
Anna Thielen and her husband Mark of Omaha Ne, Amy Walker of Smock, Pa; sisters Patricia Rye, Barbara
DeVanna, Dora McLaughlin and Darlene Novakowski; brothers Kenneth Hendricks, Thomas Hendricks and
