Larry Eugene Cook, 67, of Keyrock, WV, passed away on November 16, 2019 at Welch Community Hospital,
Welch, WV. He was born on October 26, 1952 in Pineville, WV a son of the late Aaron Oley "Jack" and
Patsy Marie Thomason Cook. Larry is a United States  Air Force Vietnam Veteran. In addition to his parents
he is preceded in death by a brother James "Cookie" Cook. Survivors include three sons Larry J. Cook of
Keyrock, Joshua A. (Amanda) Cook of East Pineville and J. Daniel (Ashley) Cook of Lexington; three
brothers Thomas "Tom" (Diana) Cook, Mike L. (Peggy) Cook all of Welch Pineville Road and Brad (Becky)
Cook of Beaver; eight grandchildren Salisha, Ashton, Paisley, Nathan, Corbin, Zachary, Kayden and Rylee;
and a host of other loving family and friends.  Funeral services will be held at 12 PM on Wednesday
November 20th at the Sweet Devine Church, Bear Hole Road with Pastor Eugene Bailey officiating. He will

Dan Goodman, 87, of Lynco, WV, passed away on November 18, 2019 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley,
WV following a short illness. He was born on October 8, 1932 in Simon, WV a son of the late Elsie
Goodman Fitch. Dan was a member of the UMWA District 17 and a retired coal miner. He enjoyed spending
time with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and setting throughout the day at
McDonalds drinking coffee and talking to his friends about the ole days and solving the worlds problems.
In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by his wife Shelvie Dean Harvey Goodman; and a
grandson Thomas Daniel Goodman. Those left to cherish his memory are his four sons Danny Dewey
Goodman, Denver (Dora) Goodman all of Lynco, Thomas (Helen) Goodman of Lynchburg, VA and James
Goodman of Orlando, FL; two grandsons Joseph (Mindy) Goodman and Denver Dewey (Stephanie)

Katherine Morgan Jessie, 83, of Brenton, WV, passed away on Tuesday November 19, 2019 at Bowers
Hospice House, Beckley, WV. She was born on December 21, 1935 in Wyoming, WV a daughter of the late
Hubert and Nellie Stuart Adams. Katherine enjoyed gardening, watching birds, doing puzzles and
crossword puzzles. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband Glen Morgan,
Sr.; her second husband Bobby Jessie; two daughters Janet Lester and Cindy Morgan; three sisters Freda
Lester, Louise Lester and Doris Cline; and a brother Hubert Adams, Jr. Survivors include three sons Paul
(Kyong Hui) Morgan of Gainesville, VA, Glen (Karen) Morgan, Jr. of Yadkinville, NC and John (Melissa)

Thomas Dale "Tommy" Adkins, 61 of Oceana, WV, passed away on Saturday November 23, 2019 at his
home. He was born on February 13, 1958 in Mullens, WV a son of Vida Laxton Adkins of Keyrock and the
late Moses Adkins, Jr.. Tommy retired from U.S. Steel after working 39 years. He loved deer hunting and
collecting cars. He had a talent for working on Porsches and Corvettes. He is preceded in death by his
father in 2010. In addition to his mother he is survived by his loving wife of 17 years Connie Mitchell
Adkins; two daughters Crystal Adkins and husband Joey Privett of North Myrtle Beach, SC and Brittney

Kathleen Geneva Hatfield, 82, of Hanover, WV, gained her wings on Monday November 25, 2019 following
a long battle with dementia at Welch Community Hospital, Welch, WV. She was born on January 28, 1937 in
Clear Fork, WV a daughter of the late Don H. and Sophia Lee Uphold Hatfield. Kathleen enjoyed gardening,
cooking Sunday dinner for her family, going to church and spending time with all who loved her. She had a
caring heart and welcoming smile. She will be missed by many. In addition to her parents she reunited with
her late husband whom she spent 54 years, Homer A. Hatfield, Sr. Together they had four children Doug

Charles Hobert Stewart, 68, of Oceana, WV, passed away on Sunday November 24, 2019 at his home following
a long illness. He was born on October 16, 1951 in Key Rock, WV a son of the late Rosco Roy Stewart and Kethel
Shannon. Charles worked as a coal miner for 35 years and a job he loved as a surveyor form many years. Those
left to cherish his memory include his companion of 38 years Patricia Stewart; their children Haven (Toby)
Stewart and Amber Stewart. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated. The world is a better place for

Henry Gerald Armstrong, Sr., 74, of Clear Fork, WV, formerly of Whitman passed away on Tuesday November
26, 2019 at Bland County nursing and Rehab, Bastian, VA. He was born on April 29, 1945 in Braeholm, WV a son
of the late William Henry Armstrong and Margaret Chaffins Armstrong McCoy. Henry is of the Church of God
faith. He believed in the Son, father and the holy ghost. Henry worked as a truck driver, he is a retired and
disabled coal miner. He is a United States Army Veteran. He was a chef and state road worker. He loved doing
anything outdoors, he enjoyed eating and his Pepsi. He loved his wife dearly and loved taking care of his
children and grandchildren. Loved southern gospel music and loved CCR as well. In addition to his parents he is
preceded in death by his step father Emzi McCoy; and two grandchildren Hunter Chance Whitney and Ashlyn
Miah Belcher. Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years Judy Justus Armstrong; eight children Candice

Gina Marie Workman Sellards, 55, of Matheny, WV, she gained her wings and entered Heaven's gates at 2:39 AM
on Thursday November 28, 2019 at her home following a long illness. She was born on August 11, 1964 in
Columbus, OH the daughter of the late Buford Ray and Mary Ann Vance Workman. Gina was a loving wife,
mother and grandmother. She was a Head Start teacher at Mountain Heart until her health forced her to retire.
She attended Joseph Baptist Church. She enjoyed planting flowers, and loved her family and her cat, Oreo, who
was by her side when she passed, along with her husband Charlie and her son Alex.  In addition to her parents
she is preceded in death by a brother Samuel Lewis Workman; a nieces Angela Varney; mother-in-law Goldie
Sellards; and a brother-in-law Roger Burgess. Survivors include her loving husband of 18 years Charlie Sellards

Nancy Kay Mullens, 61, of Glen Fork, WV, received her eternal healing on November 29, 2019 surrounded by her

Our faith lets us know we will meet again".  She was born on February 18, 1958 in Mullens, WV. Nancy enjoyed

Margaret "Juppie" Rose " Hammitt, 72, of Fanrock, WV, passed away on December 2nd, 2019 after a hard-fought
battle with cancer. She went to be with the Lord peacefully, with her loving husband, Allen Hammitt, by her side.
Margaret was born on February 18th, 1947 at the family home in Brier Creek, WV the daughter of the late Burl
Harrison and Inez Florence Stafford Rose.  She is a 1965 graduate of Baileysville High School. Margaret started a
career with the Department of Agriculture in Washington D.C., and later worked with C&P Bell in Roanoke, VA.
On August 27,1966, Margaret married the love of her life and best friend, Allen Hammitt. The two were married
for 53 years, and were practically inseparable. They enjoyed traveling, spending time with their family, golfing
and mostly, being together. Not to mention, Westerns and Politics. Margaret is survived by her loving husband,
Allen Hammitt, Sr.; her sons, Allen Hammitt Jr. and his wife Rebecca Hammitt, Scott Hammitt and his fiancé
Lindsay Hernandez; her sisters, Delores Kennedy, Paula Kennedy, Connie Lester and her husband Norman Lester;
her brother, Burl Rose and his wife Anna Rose; her grandchildren, Gavin Hammitt, Ethan Hammitt, Sydney Wray
and Aaron Moore; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends
whom she loved dearly. A memorial services will be held at 6 PM on Saturday December 7th in the Chapel of

Ola Virginia Turner Laxton, 98, of Matheny, WV, went home to be with the Lord on December 4, 2019 at the
Wyoming Nursing and Rehabilitation, New Richmond, WV.  She was born on August 29, 1921 in Virginia, a
daughter of the late George H. and Hester Hagwood Turner.  Ola was a person who loved God, family and friends
and it showed wherever she went. She spent most of her life sewing and any time she was out, it never failed that
someone approached her and thanked her for making their wedding dress, a cheerleader uniform for their child or
altering their husband's pants. Ola loved life and she could find things to laugh about with her whole body.
Christmas was her favorite holiday. Her hugs, OH HER HUGS, who could ever forget her hugs -- the intense
moments when she held you tightly and close to her heart. The grandchildren always said no one ever hugged
them like their Mamaw. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Emmett Laxton, Jr.;
and three brothers Woodrow, Carlton and Paul Turner. Survivors include her two sons Dwight (Sue) Laxton of
Matheny and Larry (Judy) Laxton of Mobile, AL; a sister Charlene Slate of Collinsville, VA; five grandchildren

Blankenship Brumfield of Tamcliff and the late Chris Brumfield. In addition to her father she is preceded in death

Juanita Cole Cook, 87, of Clear Fork, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday December 8, 2019 at her
home. She was born on August 10, 1932 in Sunhill, WV a daughter of the late Troy and Vera Tilley Cole. Juanita
retired from the Wyoming County Board of Education as a secretary and teacher's aide for 25 years at Reedy
Creek., Long Branch and Coal Mountain schools. She was a member of the Oceana United Methodist Church and
also attended Sun Hill Community Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of
62 years Eugene Cook; his parents Martha and Hugh Cook; a brother-in-law Hugh Cook, Jr. and his wife Edith; a
niece Judy Hamby; two brothers Alvin Cole and his wife Geneca and Clarence Cole and his wife Ruth; and a

William D. "Bill" Brinkley, 64, of Wyco, WV, passed away on December 5, 2019 at his home. He was born on
October 9, 1955 in Mullens, WV a son of the late William D. Brinkley, Sr. and Clara Grose Brinkley. In addition to
his parents he is preceded in death by three sisters Gaynell Blankenship, Terry Thompson and Gilda Phillips.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years Emma "Cricket" Dial Brinkley; two daughters Carrie
Brinkley and her companion Roger Poe, II and Jessica Marcum and husband Roger Marcum, Jr.; two sisters
Dotsue Moran, Martina Lewis and husband Forest; a brother David Park and wife Tita; four grandchildren Raven

Ashley Nicole Osborne, 28, of Accoville, WV, passed away on December 8, 2019 at her home do to health issues.
She was born on July 6, 1991 in Charleston, WV, a daughter of the late Charlie Osborne of Curtis, WV. Ashley
was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She loved hanging out with her friends, cleaning house
and tending to her dog Charlie. In addition to her father she is preceded in death by her grandparents Dulcie and
Willard Osborne, Fitch Fields and Teresa Turley; a special great grandmother Icie "Granny" Cantabury; her aunt
who cared for her after her dad's passing Sadie Gibson; and her special friend Brian Harvey.   Those left to
cherish her memory include her boyfriend Scottie Issac of Accobille; a son Dawson Issac; step children
Christopher,  and Aleigha Issac, Alexis and Kaili McCoy and Brook Motely; her mother Misty and Arnold Osborne

Ricky Noel Lusk, Sr., 61, of Pipestem, WV formerly of Cyclone went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday
December 17, 2019 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV. He was born on November 4, 1958 in Logan, WV a son
of the late Sebert Noel and Drema Joyce Osborne Lusk. Ricky was a member of the UMWA Local 1503. In addition
to his parents he is preceded in death by a son Ricky Noel Lusk, Jr. Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years
Brenda Lea Holt Lusk; a son Joshua Lee (Dory) Lusk of Sophia; a sister Lesha (Earl) Lusk of Neola; two brothers

Timmy Dillon, 52, of Hanover, WV passed away on Thursday December 19, 2019 at Saint Mary's Medical Center,
Huntington, WV following a long illness. He was born on December 23, 1966 in Welch, WV a son of the late Billy
Ray and Frances Justice Dillon. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters Shelby Jean
Dillon and Debra Carol Dillon. Survivors include a sister Diane Dillon of Hanover; two brothers Billy Ray Dillon
and wife Angela and Brian Dillon and companion Michelle Lambert all of Hanover; a niece Mary Frances Dillon;
two nephews Toby Keith Dillon and Brian Keith Dillon, Jr.; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral

Delores Christine Stout Conner Gunter, 73, of Lynco, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday December
19, 2019 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV. She was born on September 24, 1946 in Elizabethton, TN a
daughter of the late John Stout and Alice Christine Ingram. Delores attended the Lynco Community Church. She
loved going to church and making donations to the Wounded Veterans, Boy's Town, and The SPCA. In addition to
her parents she is preceded in death by her ex-husband Leroy Conner. Survivors include a daughter Teresa Conner
of Lynco; a son David Conner of Lynco; a sister Peggy Hawks of New Mexico; a brother Bill Culpepper of Atlanta,
GA; two grandchildren Levi Conner and Brandie Conner Bestil; a nephew Little Sonny Gunter of Monroe County; a
niece Tina Cales of Beckley; sister-in-laws Linda Wiker and Nettie Gunter  both of Summersville; her ex-husband

Alva Eugene Sizemore, 71, of Clear Fork, WV went home to be with the Lord on Saturday December 21, 2019 at
Select Specialty Hospital, Charleston, WV. He was born on May 1, 1948 in Maben, WV a son of the late Freman and
Della Sizemore. Alva attended the Garwood Church of God. He worked for many years for Ford and then the
Wyoming County Board of Education. Survivors include his loving wife Shirley Browning Sizemore; four step sons
Gene (companion Abby) Osborne of Cape Girardeau, MO, Chris (Melissa) Osborne of Tazewell, VA, Tracey (Stacey)
Osborne of Oceana and Adam (Heather) Osborne of Bolt; nine grandchildren; many friends in the maintenance

Ellen Lena Walker, 81, of Oceana, WV passed away on Thursday December 26, 2019 at Logan Regional Medical
Center, Logan, WV. She was born on December 24, 1938 in Grundy, VA a daughter of the late John and Polly
Mullens Rife. Ellen was of the Old Regular Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two
daughters Faith and Hope Walker; five sisters Judy, Brenda Jo, Tessie, Shelby and Retha. Survivors include two
daughter Rosanna (companion Coy Buirley) Lester of Greenville, OH and Janie (Stephen) Baisden of Simon; three
sons Roger Walker, Jamie (Hattie Justice) Walker and Rodney (Pamela Ashby) Walker all of Oceana; a sister
Patricia Belcher of Oceana; a brother Andrew Rife of Virginia; a very special friend Charlene Gibson of Oceana;

Michael Ross Lamb, 62, of Oceana, WV passed away on Monday December 30, 2019 at his home following a long

Jerrold Allen "Jerry" Walker, 50, of Oceana, WV  passed away on January 1, 2020 at Cornerstone Hospital,
Huntington, WV, following a long illness. He was born on May 31, 1969 in Mullens, WV, a son of Helen Irene
DorseyWalker of Oceana and the late James Michael Walker, Sr.; In addition to his father he is preceded in death
by two brothers Jonthon Miller and James Michael "Jimmy" Walker, Jr., and his grandfather James White
Walker. In addition to his mother survivors include a sister Joyce Lynn Miller of Lewisburg; three brothers Joe
Clark Walker of Coal Mountain, Daniel Shawn Walker of Beckley and Justin Curtis Miller of Roncevert; and a host

Lucy Ellen Lusk Grubb, 88, of Oceana, WV, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 1,
2020 at Raleigh General Hospital surrounded by her loving husband of 72 years, her children and extended
family, as they sang Amazing Grace. She was born on December 14, 1931 in Lorado, WV, a daughter of the late
Onnie Pierce and Mary Ellen Bailey Lusk; She was a member of Guyandotte Baptist Church, where she attended
faithfully. Her smile was infectious and everyone loved her. Her love for Jesus deeply touched her family, church
members and everyone she met. The influence of her love will remain forever and she will never be forgotten  In
addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four siblings, a son in law Roger Simpson and two
grandsons Mark Simpson and Nicholas Scott Abbott. Survivors include her loving husband of 72 years Ralph
Grubb, four daughters Glenda Simpson of Saulsville, Barbara (Paul) Jeffrey of Cyclone, Sue (Dwight) Laxton of
Matheny and Nancy (Harrison) Abbott of Kopperston; a son Greg (Toni) Grubb of Kopperston; siblings Sylvia
(Steve) Gibson, Leonard (Anita) Lusk and Earnel (Eleanor) Lusk; a sister in law Jean Lusk; eleven grandchildren

Benny Vincin Toler, 71, of Clear Fork, WV  went home to be with the Lord on Sunday January 5, 2020  at Bowers
Hospice House, Beckley, WV. He was born on November 12, 1948 in Reedy Creek, WV a son of the late Alda and
Vicie Harper Toler. Benny enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed
hunting, fishing and he was a regular at the Oceana McDonalds where he loved to visit his buddies. Benny loved
life and had a great sense of humor and always loved to make people laugh. He was a retired coal miner of 32
years, was All County and All Conference football player for Baileysville High School (1966), and was Middle
Weight Boxing Champion (1973) for WV, KY, and OH. He was also inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame (1982).
His children and grandchildren always say that he was their very own Super Hero. Benny is survived by his loving
wife Karen Ward Toler; his children, Benny Shawn Stafford of Salt Lake City UT, Dana Toler Helmandollar and her
husband Kevin of Sevierville TN, Shena Toler Lilly and her husband Preston of Crouches Farm WV, and Mardigon
Toler and his wife Jamie of Teays Valley WV; his sister Juanita (Toler) Morgan and her husband James of Simon
WV; his grandchildren include Benjamin, Kyra, and Sylvie Stafford; Haven ‘Jade’ and Elijah Helmandollar; Kaden,

Zida Aliff Trent Chambers, 96, of Laurel Branch, Clear Fork, WV  went home to be with the Lord on Monday
January 6, 2020  Beckley Appalachian Hospital, Beckley, WV. She was born on September 25, 1923 in Laurel
Branch, WV a daughter of the late Bee and Cora Toler Aliff. Zida is the last of her immediate family. In addition to
her parents she is preceded death by three brothers Albert (Ruth), Raymond (Masil) and Elmer (Elouine) Aliff; her
children Gene Trent, Geraldine Trent Pinter and Dwight Trent; her first husband Melvin Trent; and her second
husband Herbert Chambers. Survivors include her daughter Betty and Jerry King, with whom she lived and her
son Mike Trent all of Clear Fork; six grandchildren Jodi and Scott Parsons of Clear Fork, Randy King and Mark

Patricia "Trish" Lester, 55, of Oceana, WV  received her healing while surrounded by her family on Tuesday
January 7, 2020. She was born on April 5, 1964 in Welch, WV a daughter of Shirley Temple Maynor Chambers of
Lynco and the late Dewey Chambers. She lived her life as a hard working, dedicated woman that carried a smile
for anyone she met. She was a stranger to no one and to know her was to love her. She was blessed with a large
family that loved her dearly. In addition to her father she is preceded in death by her grandparents; a brother
David Hearns; a niece Brandy Lynn; sister-in-law Teresa Maynor; and grandson Damien Vazquez. In addition to
her mother those left to celebrate her life are her husband of 20 years Bernie Lester; her children  Amanda (Brian)

Melva Jean Toler Burgess, 81, of Altamonte Springs, FL passed away peacefully, at home, on January 8. 2020.  
She was born June 9, 1938, in Kopperston, WV, the daughter and eldest child of Elery S. Toler and Vayor C.
(Brown) Toler.  Melva graduated from Van High School, class of 1956.  Following graduation, she went to work at
Edward Goodwin, WV State Capital, as a bookkeeper.  Shortly thereafter, Melva married Wayland “Wayne”
Burgess, of St. Albans, WV.  They moved to Bridgeport, WV, where they raised their two children, Pamela “Pam”
J. Burgess and Stephen D. Burgess.  Together, they owned and operated several successful businesses, including
The West Virginia Restaurant and Republic Fence Company.  In 1984, the family relocated to Orlando, FL.  Melva
enjoyed a successful career as Senior Tax Analyst of AAA Headquarters, in addition to owning and operating her
own accounting firm, Burgess Accounting.  It was also during this time that she obtained her Bachelor’s degree
(Accounting) from Florida Southern College and enrolled in graduate studies at a local university.  At the time of
her husband’s death on June 7, 2012, they had been married 53 years. In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by her sister, Betty Nell Toler, her brother, Carl C. Toler and her other brother, Sherman E.
Toler. Surviving her are her two children, Pamela J. Burgess and Stephen Burgess, both of Altamonte Springs.
Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday January 15th at Toneda Missionary Baptist Church,
Kopperston, WV. She will be laid to rest in Kopperston Community Cemetery, Kopperston, WV. Friends may

Gavin Kahne Cook, 12, of Kopperston, WV went home to play in God's playground on Wednesday January 8,
2020 in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV. He was born on August 15, 2007 in Charleston, WV the son
of Tiffany Machelle Brunty Cook of Kopperston and Keith Sefton Cook of Oceana. He is preceded in death by his
great grandmothers Nora Lee Brunty and Jean Smith; great grandfather Carless Lusk; and a cousin Alexis
Mullins. In addition to his parents survivors include his grandparents Guy Brunty, Debbie (Ron) Hall, Florence
Cook and Clyde Cook; great grandfather Guy Brunty, Sr.; aunts and uncles Trey Brunty, Paige (Dustin) Walker,
Rhianna Wagoner, Melanie (Eugene) Mullins, Kevin (Rhonda) Cook and Chris (Kathy) Cook; his cousins Alex

Lynda Gladys Conley Christian, 72, of Lillydale, WV went home to be with the Lord on Friday January 10, 2020.
She was born on February 26, 1947 in Oceana, WV a daughter of the late William Ray and Nita Alice Adams
Conley. Lynda attended Joseph Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving
husband of 30 years David Lee Christian; a sister Sally Snodgrass; and a grandson Skyler Justyce Browning.
Survivors include two daughters Rebecca Christian (Bobby) Kennedy of Reedy Creek and Stephanie Dawn
Christian (Michael) Browning of Shady Spring; a son David Bryant (Erica) Christian of Oak Hill; a sister Cindy Rae
Conley (Powell) Cooke of Lillydale; a brother Robert Dale (Nancy) Conley of Lillydale; five grandchildren Courtney
Dawn Kennedy, Derek Lee Kennedy, Morgan Dawn Spolarich, Christian Shawn Spolarich, Caleb Lee Christian and
Bryce Jakob Browning; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 7 pm on
Wednesday January 15th at Joseph Baptist Church, Lynco, WV with Pastor William Cook officiating. Friends may
gather with the family from 6 pm until time of services on Wednesday at the church. In keeping with her wishes

Rev. Jerry Alden Cook, 75, of Princeton, WV went home to be with the Lord on Sunday January 12, 2020 at the
Glenwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Princeton, WV. He was born on April 26, 1944 in Roderfield, WV a
son of the late Rev. Loran Alden and Elsie Mae McKenzie Cook. Jerry attended the Ark of Safety at Roderfield. In
addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 24 years Lola May Wyatt Cook; a daughter
Joyce Ann Cook; three brothers Benny Ray Cook, Robert Cook and Paul Cook; two sisters Betty Ann Riggs and
Emogene Hughes; a step son Charles White. Survivors include two daughters Jodie Cook and Cathy Cook of OH;
four step daughters Teresa (Dean) Walker of Man, Rosanna Morgan of Princeton, Tammy Walls of IL and
Tawanna Simmons of Mullens; two brothers John W. (Patricia) Cook of Roderfield and Willard Cook of Mena, AK;
five sisters Marie Creggar of Shady Spring, Jackie West of Columbus, OH, Lorna (Steve) Dillon of Houston, TX,
Magel (Darrell) Stapleton of Beckley and Shirley Madden of Daniels; his dog Gypsy; seven grandchildren; three
great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral
services will be held at 12 pm on Thursday January 16th at the Ark of Safety, Roderfield, WV with Rev. Darrell
Stapleton officiating. He will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with

Lutia Ann Lamb Prichard, 56, of Henderson, NC, formerly of Oceana, WV went home to be with the Lord on
January 9, 2020 at her home following a short illness. She was born on May 9, 1963 in Welch, WV the daughter
Lutia Maynard Lamb of Kopperston and the late Alvin J. Lamb. Ann is a 1981 graduate of Oceana High School, a
member of Toneda Missionary Baptist Church and  the previous owner Ann's Fashion in Oceana.. In addition to
her father she is preceded in death by her grandparents Edna and Bert Maynard and Woodrow and Fairie Lamb;
and uncle Wade Maynard; and an Aunt Sadie DeLong. In addition to her mother survivors include her loving
husband Eric Prichard; three aunts Edra Smith of Columbus, OH, Ruth (Ron Altizer) Whittington of Oceana and
Bethel (Murray) Baker of Seattle, WA; two uncles James (Lola) Lamb of Chapin, SC and Roy (Jane) Lamb of AL;
special friend who was like a father Gary Mitchell; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services
will be held 10:30 am on Friday January17 in The Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Acord
and Bro. Bert Douglas Smith officiating. Friends may gather with the family from 5-8:00 pm on Thursday at the

Barbara Sue Cline, 74, of Oceana, WV went home to be with the Lord on Sunday January 12, 2020 at Hubbard
Hospice, South Charleston, WV. She was born on June 26, 1945 in Sunhill, WV a daughter of the late William
Squire and Maggie Pearl Blankenship Toler. Barbara attended the Oceana Church of God. In addition to her
parents she is preceded in death by two sisters Burnice Morgan and Joyce Ann Blankenship; and a nephew Jeffery
Blankenship. Survivors include two sons Samuel Dewayane (Kim) Cline of NC and Eric Scott (Maryann) Cline of
Eleanor; two sisters Emma (William) Morgan of Lillydale and Brenda (Ottway) Elkins of Oceana; a brother Fairley
(Wanda) Toler of Kopperston; four grandchildren Kelsey Cline, Hanna Cline, Tyler Curtis Cline and Tyler Cline;
great nephews and nieces Colton Vance, Brooke Honaker, Tori Honaker and Gabriel Elkins; and a host of other
loving family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 3 pm on Friday January 17th at Palm Memorial

Stanley Lewis Pendry, 54, of Welch, WV passed away on January 16, 2020 in Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley,
WV. He was born on November 8, 1965 in Mullens, WV a son of the late Frank T. and Minnie J. Bailey Pendry.
Stanley is a member of Trinity Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church. In addition to his parents he is preceded in
death by a nephew Benjamin Ruley. Survivors include three daughters Kimberly Ann Pendry, Alesha Jane Pendry
and Rachael Elizabeth Pendry all of Welch; four sisters Iris (Buzz) Workman of Pineville, Glenda (Danny) Pizzino
of Glen Fork, Letha (Roger) Gilstrap of Durham, NC and Vanessa Pauley of Pineville; a brother Tommy (Bonnie)
Pendry of Jesse; and a host of other loving family and friends. A memorial service will be held from 6-9 pm on
Thursday January 23rd at the Trinity Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church, Welch, WV with Pastor Danny Pruitt

Jeremy Ryan Smith, 26, of Oceana, WV passed away on January 12, 2020. He was born on January 7, 1994 in
Welch, WV a son of William Joseph Smith and Angela Kay Whitson Church. He is preceded in death by his
grandfather Billy Joe Smith; great grandmothers Hazel Aley and Beatrice George; an aunt Robin Smith; and uncle
