Troy Dale Lester, 52, of California, MD formerly of Oceana passed away on Saturday April 7, 2018 at the
University of MD Charles Regional Medical Center, La Plata, MD. He was born on October 17, 1965 in
Welch, WV a son of the late Edward Huling Lester and the late Maggie Vicie Hendricks Lester Blankenship.
Dale was is a United States Marines, Navy and Air Force Veteran and a 1984 graduate of Oceana High
School. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Erby Edward Lester and step father
Roger Blankenship. Survivors include his wife Crystal Jean Lester; his children Edward Dale Lester and
Kristopher Blake Lester and Trae Von Miller, Joseph Varela and Ema Lester; and a host of other loving
family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Monday April 16th in the Chapel of Stafford
Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Patty Morgan Officiating. He will be laid to rest in Palm
Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. The Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct Military Rites.

Havanna June Browning, 59, of Glen Fork, WV passed away on Friday April 13, 2018 at Raleigh General
Hospital, Beckley, WV. She was born on January 13, 1959 in Mullens, WV a daughter of the late Dolly and
Lola Jean Graham Lambert. Havanna was a member of the Matheny Church of God. In addition to her
parents she is preceded in death by her husband Kermit E. Browning; and a brother Kevin Graham.
Survivors include a son Timothy Rice (Debra) Browning of Matheny; a sister Reva Ann Altizer of Oceana; a
brother James Franklin Graham of Matheny; a grandson Timothy Eugene Browning; three granddaughters;
and a host of other loving family and friends. In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated. The family
is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
Edsel Eugene Tolliver, 74, of Indian Creek, WV passed away on Saturday April 14, 2018 at Princeton
Community Hospital, Princeton, WV. He was born on May 12, 1943 in Wolfe Pen, WV a son of the late
Enoch Johnson and Mary Lee Faw Tolliver. He was a member of the UMWA and last worked at the US Steel
Prep Plant. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 35 years Barbara Simpson
Tolliver; and a brother Kenneth Tolliver. Survivors include two daughters Angela Roberts of Fanrock of
Fanrock and Cyndi (Jeff) Patrick of Brier Creek; a son Edsel "Junior" (Stephanie) Tolliver  of Maryland; a
brother Larry (Marcella) Tolliver of Shady Spring; five grandchildren Tori, Cody, Dylan, Dustin and Brad;
and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Thursday April 19th
in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Bro Leonard Sizemore officiating. He will
be laid to rest in Roberts-Tolliver Cemetery, Fanrock, WV. The Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard will

Hobert Cline, 69, of Simon, WV went to be with the Lord on Wednesday April 17, 2018 at Pikeville Medical
Center, Pikeville, KY. He was born on August 3, 1948 in Simon, WV a son of the late Omar and Dorthy Cline.  
Hobert was a loving father, grandfather, father-in-law, great grandfather, son brother and friend. He is a
United States Army Veteran and attended the Apostolic House of Faith. His loving smile and gentle heart
will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by
his loving wife of 46 years Linda Sue Walker Cline; a sister Shirley Lester; two brothers Chester Cline and
Woodrow Kenneda; and a grandson Cody Ryan Walker. Those left to cherish his memories include two
daughters Lovetta (Eddie) Brown of Lillydale and Tanya (Bradley) Walker of Hanover; a son Joey Cline and
his girlfriend Adrienne Morgan of Simon; two brothers Lloyd (Kay) Cline and Homer (Clara) Cline all of
Simon; a sister Marcelene Browning of Gallipolis, OH; seven grandchildren  that he loved and cherished
dearly Joshua (Jennifer) Walker, Jeffrey (Alexandra) Brown, Latosha, Caleb, Delwood, Harley and Skylar; a
special great granddaughter Addyson Brown; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services
will be held at 3PM on Sunday April 22nd at the Apostolic House of Faith, Foundation Fork, WV with Pastor
Todd Kenneda, Bro. Barry Brooks, Bro. Tommy White and Bro. Robert Hunt officiating. He will be laid to
rest in Kennedy Cemetery, Foundation Fork, WV. The Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct

Pauline Adkins, 76, of Oceana, WV passed away on Wednesday April 18, 2018 at her home. She was born on
October 6, 1941 in Freeburn, KY a daughter of the late Robert Grayson and Nora Pearl Ward. In addition to
her parents she is preceded in death by a son Jerry Randal "Randy" Vance. Survivors include three daughters
Betty (Dale) Osborne, Barbara Caldwell and companion Robert Shumate and Tina (Steve) Massey all of
Oceana; a son Virgil Adkins, III of FL; two brothers Bob (Carol) Ward of Beckley and Roger Ward of Pineville;
seven grandchildren Cassie Hall, Wesley (Brianna) Finney, Carlton Abram, Ieshia (Walter) Wright, Dezari
(Franklin) Perdue, Stephanie (Jamie) Vanover and Kaitlyn Adkins; and a host of other loving family and
friends. Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Monday April 23rd in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral
Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Ernest Francis officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens,

Betty Lou Sizemore McMillion, 68, of Glen Fork, WV passed away on Thursday April 19, 2018 at her home.
She was born on July 18, 1949 in Kopperston, WV a daughter of the late Hearley and Vernie Toler Sizemore.
Betty attended the Promise Land Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her
husband Henry Porter Harmon; her husband Don Ed McMillion; a sister Harriett Doss; a brother Hearley
Gale Sizemore; a nephew Darrell "DJ" Doss, Jr.; and two brothers-in-law Kenneth Blackburn and Darrell
Allen Doss.  Survivors include a son Jason (Amanda) Harmon of Beckley; a sister Rebecca Blackburn of
Kopperston; a brother Roy Dean (Anita) Sizemore of Kopperston; three grandchildren Hattie Marie, Molly
Katherine and Emily June; a special nephew William McMillion; special friends Wanda and Eddie Carter; and
a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Tuesday April 24th in the

Michael Charles Toler, 64, of Wolf Pen, WV passed away on Friday April 27, 2018 at his home. He was born
on October 11, 1953 in Delbarton, WV a son of Ester Loucille Cook Toler of Wolf Pen and the late William
Floyd Toler. Michael is a member of the UMWA and the Indian Creek Community Church. In addition to his
father he is preceded in death by his wife Joyce Diana Shepherd Toler. Survivors include two daughters
Brittany Toler and fiancé Johnta' Brewster of Jesse and Melanie (Jason) Byrd of Welch; a sister Lavetta
(James) Cline of Princeton; two brothers Tommy (Arlene) Toler of Charleston and Terry (Gerri) Toler of KY;
one grandchild Kelsie (James) Martin; and one great grandchild Rowan Martin; and a host of other loving
family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 3PM on Wednesday May 9th at the Indian Creek
Community Church with Pastor Scotty Cline officiating. Friends may gather with the family from 2PM until

Pastor Roger D. Stewart, 71, took his first walk on the streets of Glory on Monday, April 30, 2018 at
Raleigh General Hospital.  He was born October 19, 1946 in Matheny, WV the son of the late French and
Lettie Stewart. Roger began his ministry calling in 1972.  He was pastor of several churches throughout the
state retiring as Pastor of Campus Church of God at Cyclone.  After retiring from being a full time pastor,
Roger enjoyed singing with The Harless Family, evangelizing, sitting on the porch and visiting with family
and friends.  Roger left behind a great legacy and will be greatly missed by many. In addition to his parents
he was preceded in death by two brothers Onnie and Gifford; a sister Betty Gail Sigmon; and a nephew
Jimmy Sigmon.  Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years and partner in ministry Brenda Runion
Stewart; a son Mark (Cecilia)Stewart of Buckhannon; a daughter Kim (Shawn) Sanders of Kopperston; and
a special “adopted” daughter Marlena (Jerry) Graley and her family. He was Popaw to Alexis (Sam) Hanna
and Brooke Stewart (friend James)  and Pops to Brittany, Jordan, Bryson, Ellie, Dustin, Ashley, Kolby,
Hannah, Dustie, Chance, Tara, Joel, Blake, Declan and Charlie. He is also survived by brothers-in-law David
(friend Anetta) and Glenn Runion and Jim (Betty) Sigmon; nieces and nephews Karen, Molly, Chloe, Nick,
Jessica, Andrew, Colleen, Justin, Joel, Tisha, Dylan, Ricky, Angel and Monroe along with numerous other
family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Friday May 4th at the Matheny Church of God,
Matheny, WV with Pastor Jerry Graham, Bishop Wayne Wicker and Bishop Daniel Hampton officiating. He

Carl E. “Tuffy” Fleenor, Jr, 69, of Kopperston, WV, went peacefully to be with Jesus on Tuesday, May 1,
2018, at Bowers Hospice House of Beckley, WV, following a courageous battle with cancer.  Born July 15,
1948 in Dante, VA  the son of the late Carl Edward Sr. and Ruby Helen Linkous Fleenor.  Tuffy was a beloved
husband, father, Pap, uncle, and friend to all.  His smile was contagious, and he made anyone who knew
him feel special and loved. He was an inspiration to many, and a strong man of integrity and virtue.  His
legacy will be one of God’s love; his life on Earth was spent spreading that love to all he came into contact
with.   Tuffy was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran, a member of the UMWA Local 1503 and the
Toneda Missionary Baptist Church.  Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years Beverly "Bev" Cook
Fleenor; a daughter Anessia (Rich) Thomas of Chesapeake, VA; two sons Brandon (Kristy) Fleenor of Clear
Fork and Chris (Mandy) Fleenor of Glen Allen, VA; six grandchildren Aly Fleenor, Jaeden Fleenor, Ian
Thomas, Parker Thomas, Mandolin Fleenor and Stone Fleenor; and a host of other loving family and

Robert Kenneth "Rabbit" Crouse, 75, of Oceana, WV, passed away on Thursday May 3, 2018 in Raleigh
General Hospital, Beckley, WV. He was born on September 1, 1942 in Man, WV a son of the late Jesse and
Anna Ruth Gibson Crouse. Rabbit was a member of the UMWA. In addition to his parents he is preceded in
death by his wife JoAnn Edith Gibson Crouse; a daughter Melissa Sue "Missy" Crouse; two brothers
Norman "Toby" Crouse and Arthur Lee Crouse; a sister Kay Belcher; and an infant brother and sister Cletis
and Joyce Crouse and a son-in-law Wayne Acord. Survivors include a daughter Elaine Victoria Acord of
Mullens; a son James Adam (Cindy) Crouse of Silo Hollow; three brothers Emory Dale (Tabby) Crouse of
Oceana, Stevie (Penny) Crouse of Kimball and Tommy (Barbara) Crouse of Kopperston; a brother-in-law

Waitman S. Brown, 71, of Cyclone, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Friday May 11, 2018 in Bowers
Hospice House, Beckley, WV. He was born on March 23, 1947 in Cyclone, WV, a son of the late Shelby and
Alma Elkins Brown. Waitman enlisted in the Army in 1968 and served two tours in Vietnam. He was a
member of the honor guard and participated in many events including parades and funerals. He loved his
family and friends. He was a member of the choir at Campus Church of God. He loved to sing and play his
harmonicas in church. He was part of the gospel singing group "The Brown Family". He enjoyed fishing,
eating, camping and spending time outdoors. He was very talented at playing many different instruments.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years Shelia Marie Smith Brown; a son Eric (Linda) Brown; a
daughter Shannon (Arron) Fry; grandchildren Nicholas Grimsley, Kristopher and Katelynn Brown, Ezra and
Ella Fry and Zane, Kage, Chailee Jo Reed and Jarrett; His goddaughter Cailey "Sunshine" Lusk; two brothers

Garnett Marie Harvey Lyons, 90, of Damascus, VA, formerly of Brenton, WV, went home to be with the
Lord on Monday May 14, 2018 at her home. She was born on September 14, 1927 in Maben, WV, a daughter
of the late Onnie and Elsie Taylor Harvey. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her
husband of 69 years Graydon Proctor Lyons, a son Kennith Graydon Lyons, a daughter Mary Ellen Lyons,
two son-in-laws Tommy Cox and Jerry Pendry. Survivors include her children Sally Lyons Cox, Margie
Lyons Pendry, Lena Lyons (Ronnie) Melton, Roy (Marcella) Lyons, Dianna Lyons (Jerry) Coleman;
daughter-in-law Judy Hatfield Lyons; twenty-nine grandchildren; sixty-one great grandchildren and

Joseph Wilson Walls, 46, of Jacksonville, FL, formerly of Coal Mountain, WV, passed away on Sunday May
13, 2018 at his home following a short illness. He was born on July 31, 1971 in Man, WV a son of Vonnie
Walls of Jacksonville, FL and the late Grant Walls. Joe worked as a coal and log truck driver, Food Lion  and
Walmart associate and worked on Hurricane relief when needed. He never met a stranger and was loved by
everyone who knew him. he will be truly missed. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a
brother Doyle Walls. In addition to his mother survivors include four sisters Joyce (Dave) Bastin of
Columbia, TN, Viola (Jeff) Ward of Huff Creek, Lisa Shuart of Jacksonville, FL and Marlena Leon of
Jacksonville, FL; several nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held

Ricky "Duke" Tilley, 66, of Sabine, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday May 17, 2018 in Beckley
ARH surrounded by his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle,
brother and friend to many. He was born on February 25, 1952 a son of the late Curtis and Joy Phillips
Tilley.  Duke worked 25 years as a coal miner, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching races and just
spending time with his family. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter Kimberly
Wise; grandson Tyler Francis; five brothers Richard, David, Kenneth, Stevie and Jerry; and a sister Tammy
Francis. Duke is now in heaven waiting for his wife of 49 years Joyce Tilley; his daughters Tina (John)
Tilley, Michelle Tilley and Amanda "Boo" Tilley; two brothers Charlie (Sissy) Tilley, Gary "Porky" Tilley and
companion Janet; a sister Ronda Tilley and companion Gary; 10 grandchildren whom he loved dearly Justin
Ward, Natasha and Kelsey Hall, Josh (Kristen) Stewart, Austin (Kanisha) Pennington, Desirea (Zach)
Mullins, Travis (Shannan) Smith, Kyle (Miranda) Smith and Haley "Love Bug" Tilley; twenty great
grandchildren whom he admired; special friends Mike Smith, David Stewart and Shana Tilley; several

Vernon Lee Hurley, 75, of  St. Simons Island, Georgia, passed May 17, 2018 in Carillion Memorial Hospital,
Roanoke, Virginia. He was born August 14, 1942 in Rockview, Wyoming County, WV to Goldie Short Rose of
Beckley, WV, and the late Nehemiah Myre Hurley. Vernon was predeceased by his first wife and mother of
his four children, Donna Allen Hurley, in 2004.  He is survived by his loving wife Anne Bleakley Jones Hurley
whom he married February 7, 2018, and her son Freddie Bruce; his Children: Keith Duty and sons Paul and
Logan; daughter Carol Lynn and husband Terry Privett; son Christopher and Amanda Lynn Hurley and
grandchildren Elyn and Liam, who were the sunshine of his life; and Jeremy Hurley. He is also survived by
his sister Carrol and husband Karl Ullrich, and brother Stephen and wife Linda Pannel Hurley. A memorial
service will be held 5:00 PM Monday, May 21, 2018 at Rockcastle Baptist Church, Rockview, West Virginia.  
There will be a later memorial service at Holy Nativity Episcopal Church in Georgia,  after which his ashes
will be interred in Christ Church Frederica, St. Simons Island, GA.
Helen Marie Cook McGinnis, 95, of Oceana, passed away Friday, May 18, 2018 at Bowers Hospice House in
Beckley after a long battle with Crohn’s Disease. Helen was born on November 18, 1922 at Peach Tree near
Naoma to the late Reverend Byrd G. and Belva Cook. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in
death by her husband of 60 years, Alfred “Jack” McGinnis, a son Roy Roger (Julia) McGinnis of Dry Creek, a
daughter, Betty Rose (Guy) Cox of Gastonia, North Carolina, a sister, Ruth Bone (Giles) of Flint, Michigan,
two brothers, Louie (Virginia) Cook of Tipton, Iowa and David “Bill” Cook of Fairdale. She will be forever
missed by her daughters and caregivers Joyce Jean Sabatino and Jacquelyn Ann “Jackie” Whitley of
Oceana, her son James Ross (Joyce) McGinnis of Huntington, and her sister Fern (George) Wood of
Beckley. Helen leaves eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and three great great
grandchildren who adored her. She will also be missed by her dogs Zoey and Susie, and fourteen cats,
especially “Baby” and “Smokey”, each of whom were given to her or abandoned on her doorstep. Helen
felt a great calling to care for God’s creatures, especially unwanted animals.  Helen lived her early years at
Dry Creek, working the family farm, raising a family, and playing piano at Dry Creek Freewill Baptist
Church. She and Jack moved to Oceana (Crany) in 1968 where he worked at the Kopperston #2 mine until
retirement.  As recently as last summer, Helen could be seen mowing her three-acre yard on her faithful
Cub Cadet and working her beautiful flower gardens. She attended Crany Missionary Baptist Church when
she could and enjoyed the fellowship of her neighbors. Services will be held Friday, May 25, 2018 at
Stafford Family Funeral Home at Lynco. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral at 1:00
with Reverend Charles Cook officiating.  Helen will be buried at the Cook Family Cemetery at Peach Tree
near the home place where she was born. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons. The family
would like to thank the nurses and staff of Bowers Hospice House for their amazing care and compassion.

Bobby Gene Caldwell, Sr. , 72, of Cyclone, WV passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Dignity Hospice
House, Chapmanville, WV. He was born on January 3, 1946 in Cyclone, WV a son of the late Walter Thomas
and Virgie Ratliff Caldwell. Bobby attended the Campus Church of God. In addition to his parents he is
preceded in death by a granddaughter Adrianna Caldwell; a sister Jackie Gilbert; two infant brothers; and
an infant sister. Survivors include his wife of 10 years Norma Jean Cox Caldwell; a daughter Tina Louise

born on July 13, 1944 in Mullens, WV a daughter of the late Kelly Owens and Hessie Tilley Bower. In
addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Virgil Trump; step father Rev. Carl Bower;
two brothers Earl and Estil Owens; a sister Frances Trump; and brother-in-law Ted Trump. Survivors include

Eddie Charles Morgan, 67, of Long Branch, WV entered into his new heavenly home on Thursday, May 31,
2018 at Appalachian Regional Hospital, Beckley, WV. He was born on May 7, 1951 in Simon, WV a son of

Haskell "Jimmy" Eplin, 81, of Davin, WV went home to be with the Lord on June 4, 2018 at Genesis Logan
Center following a long illness. He was born on July 25, 1936 in Branchland, WV to the late Haskel Eplin, Sr.
and Estylla Spears Eplin. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife Sandra Johnson
"Tootie" Eplin; two sisters Betty Eplin and Linda McDaniels; and two brothers Paul and Greg. Jimmy loved
going to church and attended many churches but Cyclone Church of God was his home church. He also
enjoyed reading his bible, listening to preaching and gospel music. He was a member of the UMWA and
retired from the mining industry after 28 years. He was a United States Veteran having served as a Marine
in the Korean War. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Latha Lusk Eplin of five and half years, whom he
loved dearly; a son Timmy and Wife Shelia of Greenville; a brother Gary and wife Deanna of Davin; three
grandchildren Dustin and companion Tiffany and her daughter Alexis of Greenville, Sheena and husband
Jeremy Fekete of Accoville and Cody of Man; five great grandchildren Gage and Kimber Eplin, Kaden, Bella

She was born December 5, 1943 in Cyclone, WV a daughter of the late Drewey Kermit and Landa Cook Lusk.

Erma Jean Trent, 88, of Oceana, WV passed away on Tuesday June 19, 2018 at Princeton Community
Hospital. She was born January 12, 1930 in Harlan County, KY a daughter of the late Issac Newton and
Rosie Gertrude Ball Collins. Erma was a retired cook for the Wyoming County Board of Education, having
cooked at Baileysville High and Elementary, Long Branch, Huff Consolidated, Berlin McKinney and Road
Branch Schools. After retirement she worked for Hardees in Oceana making Biscuits. In addition to her
parents she is preceded in death by her husband James Edwin Trent; a daughter Brenda Carol Trent; two
sons James Elliott Trent and Jesse Lynn Trent; and three sisters Janorah Bowens, Ethan Marie Sparks and
Mennie Mayes; and two brothers Emmitt Collins and Warren G. Harding Collins, Erma was the last
surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include her loving son Elmo Johnson and wife Connie

Patricia Karen "Patty" Adkins, 73, of Laurel Branch, WV, joined her Savior in Heaven on July 6, 2018 at
Raleigh General Hospital. Patty was born on December 26, 1944 in Landville, WV,  a daughter of the late
Burb Payne and Athlene Gay Davis Payne Southard. She was a member of the Big Cub Missionary Baptist
Church in Coal Mountain. She was talented at flower arranging and decorating, as well as many hobbies.
Patty was a 1962 graduate of Baileysville High School and retired from the Wyoming County Board of
Education as a cook at Coal Mountain and Baileysville Elementary and Middle Schools. She was a
kindhearted, generous of spirit and loved her Heavenly Father. In addition to her parents her sister Linda
Collings also preceded her in death. Patty leaves behind her beloved husband Wesley Adkins, whom she
married on January 25, 1964; a daughter Jennifer Harding of Kernersville, NC; a son John Adkins of Loris,
SC; one grandson Michael Adkins of Tampa, FL; two granddaughters Samantha Harding of Franklin, NC
and Amber Johnson of Loris, SC; three great granddaughters; a great grandson; two brothers James Payne

Solida Stevens Mott, 64, of Matheny, WV gained her angel wings on Sunday July 15, 2018 at her home. She
was born on November 22, 1953 in Lovely, KY a daughter of the late Walter and Fannie Bailey Stevens. In
addition to her husband she is preceded in death by her loving husband Richard Allen Mott. Survivors
include four daughters Erica Mott of Matheny, Dixie Hull of Matheny, Samantha Mott of Oceana and
Amanda Mott of Matheny; eight grandchildren Koby McCartney, Kendall Harold, Eric Hull, Sarah Hull,
Hannah Hull, Payton Hull, Katlyn Clark and Isabella Clark; four great grandchildren Mia Webb, Liam Webb,
Olivia Walls and Daxon Walls; three sisters Rachel (Thurel) Stepp of Lovely, KY, Hester Pack and Nancy
Stevens both of Columbus, OH; four brothers Tom (Carol) Stevens of Lovely, KY, Walter Stevens of Lovely,
KY, Sherd (Alice) Stevens of Ashland, KY and John (Marie) Stevens of Lovely, KY; and a host of other loving

Henry Walker, 87, of Sunhill, WV went to his heavenly home on Monday July 16, 2018 at Bowers Hospice
House, Beckley, WV. He was born on April 28, 1931 in Crites, WV a son of the late Bruce and Lettie Belcher
Walker. Henry attended the Pineville Church of God.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by
his first wife of 39 years Lola Trent Walker; his second wife of 23 years Helen Toler Walker; infant
daughter Sherry Lynn; two sisters Gretchie Morgan and Janice Matney; five brothers Larry Eugene Walker,
Ernest Walker, John C. Walker, Bruce Walker, Jr. and Douglas Walker; a son-in-law Roger Cline; and
stepson Jerry Roberts. Survivors include two daughters Judy Cline of Pineville and Debra (Greg "Craig")
Walker-Cullap of Beckley; a son Mike (Teresa) Walker of Oceana; a sister Claudine Mitchem (Kenneth Peal)
of Bassett, VA; five grandchildren Steven (Kim) Cline, Brandy Cline, Hope Walker, Mica Dawn Walker and
Joshua Walker; three considered as grandchildren Taylor Stewart, Angela Harvey and Brandon Griffin; two
stepsons Timmy Roberts of Sunhill who was so good to help him in so many ways, Kevin (Linda) Roberts
and Terry Roberts all of Laurel Branch; two step granddaughters Kelsey (Derek) and Deserea; three step
great grandchildren Brantley, Brooklyn and Braxton; and a host of nieces, nephews, loving family and
friends. Funeral services will be held at 2PM on Saturday July 21st in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral
Home, with Pastor Norman Gray and Rev. Jerry McCoy officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Walker

Lois Ann Lester Hatfield, 72, of Brenton, WV went to be with the Lord on Monday July 16, 2018 at St.
Francis Hospital, Charleston, WV. She was born on May 16, 1946 in Panther, WV a daughter of the late
Maston and Rushie Hurley Lester. Lois was a loving Mother, Grandmother and sister, she loved her family
and friends. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Junior O. Hatfield; a
daughter Roxanne Lester; four brothers Roger Lester, Densel Steve Lester, Darel Lester, and Finis Bryant
Lester. Those left to cherish her loving memories are her son Jamie (Christina) Lester of Pineville; a sister
Sue (Nick) Adams of Brenton; a grandchild Jamie Jr. Lester of Pineville; a special nephew Jeffery Adams; a
special great niece Josephina Stewart; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will
be held at 1PM on Thursday July 19th at the Mill Creek Freewill Baptist Church, Brenton, WV with Pastor
Gary Hatfield and Bro. Wayne Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Thornbury Cemetery, Litwar. WV.
